I've been shopping for quite a bit less than a year, but I've seen cars move between dealers like you noted. A recent example is a '16 GT3 RS at Porsche Jacksonville for $204k. It then showed up at Porsche Oklahoma City where they increased the price to $208k. It's been there a couple weeks now and has since been reduced a few times. Currently at $198k.
Another example of dealer musical chairs. This went from Rusnak, to a smaller indy dealer, back to a Porsche dealer. I believe a Rennlister was the first owner. Very nice car.

warrington hoards and just sits on what they believe to be very unique and high value cars. that price wont move much because they are confident someone will eventually come along and pay for it.

I've been saying dealers have propped up the market for awhile now - interestingly, the musical chairs noted above is slightly value dilutive when the music stops; the value of a 6 owner car is not the same as a 2 owner car.
i came to realize that i just do not have time to enjoy my GT3 as much as i should, and just willing to move on. I like to test the water here to see if there's any interest before posting it on BAT.
2018 GT3, 6MT, Chalk, all stock, with 6,470 miles. Purchased the car from dealer with 200 miles on it, owned it ever since. The car is loaded with options except FAL. It is certainly a garage queen and always garaged. Tracked once at a novice event, mostly spirited driving
PPF on front bumper, hood, doors. Ceramic Coated whole car, including wheels.
