The 991 GT3/RS Cars For Sale Thread...

We all need to report the ad as fake so it gets taken down. The Russians do this "Dealer takeover" scam all the time where they find a place that went out of business but had Yelp and Google reviews, and they simply use the name and place a bunch of ads. I called a place on a 997 turbo and saw it was a scam and contacted Autotrader and placed reviews warning others. This Russian douche called me and threatened my life.

No lack of cars avails 90 manuals available ……..love seeing all these cars die with keys in hand and no miles.

'New normal' crowd who were very vocal about prices continuing to rise seem strangely silent. Wonder how that dealer who paid 300k+ for a touring feels about now....we're going to go through this same song and dance with 992 GT3s, they're going to build a ton of them and the only reason demand is so high (leading to ADMs) is because there are lots of buyers who have no intention of keeping the car more than a few k miles and wanting to flip for a profit. By the end of 2022, I think it'll be like how 991.2 production was one year out; plenty of low mileage cars on the used market at $20-30k off MSRP.

As for 992 GT3s they are golden tickets. I don't think there will be as many as usual.

'New Normal' is a misnomer. This is a new shelf of prices and they will depreciate from here likely at their normal rate, all brands and industry-wide. Chip shortage is another 18-24 months. 18-24 months. This isn't going away quickly. It is going to take time for these chips to get to the manufacturers, production and distribution will pick up, and the reservoir of new cars will fill again. But going to take it a few years. This isn't going to be the sort of thing that goes away quickly. And expect to see inflation in prices of the new cars which will keep the prices in the used arena up as well. So yes in one sense these prices are a "New Normal" in that they will be higher than they would have been before all this started. And who gets the chips first? Sex toy industry is unable to make vibrators for f*cks sake!

Well I don't think prices are going back to pre-pandemic, at least not anytime soon, so I agree with you. The new normal rhetoric was around ever-escalating prices or that it had plateaued near the peak, which is just flat out wrong, especially as inventories started piling up. However, I'm not sure that the chip shortage is affecting GT3s - do we have anyone from Porsche saying that? My understanding was that higher margin cars were the least affected, that's why the production halts have been for Toyota, Ford, etc rather than Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche although they could be dealing with other supply chain issues (we're not back to normal quite yet).

But think about this for a sec, the GT car buyers will wait longer and not jump to a competitor so fast, while an SUV buyer may do so with more ease if there are no cars. Manufacturers think about that as well.

I’m certainly in that camp. I’m on a couple of dealer allocation lists for the GT3 Touring for 2022, but I just don’t think it’s happening and agree with previous poster that the chip shortage will last well into 2022. I’ll probably get the Ferrari 458 instead but have also been cross shopping McLaren and Huracan given the absurdity of the current Porsche GT3 situation. And I’m a die-hard Pcar guy!
Now the truly mass-produced vehicles seem to be tricky. I know a co-worker of mine is awaiting a F150 warranty replacement for some crazy electrical issue, they told them that they have a football-stadium sized parking lot full of F150 variants right now waiting for engine control modules. It's a crazy world.

If it means anything, my dealer said their first batch of 15 GT3 allocations were fine and are through production. My Taycan order appears to be progressing along as well, looks like the TPMS is the only shortage at the moment.
