I want to chime in on this tool. It makes the CL wheel removal that much easier, and more important I don't need to find somebody to help me hold the brake and wheel while I loosen or tighten the wheels. Also, I don't need to lug my 3/4" torque bar to the track anymore. This tool is compact, easy to use, and a must have for anybody that turns their own wrenches. Approved!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but how are you loosening or tightening the front wheels with Renntorq without someone holding the brakes? I'm using the Renntorq tool but you still need to hold down the brakes with an assistant or spreader clamp to prevent the front wheels from turning while tightening or loosening.

Received my RennTorq last week and used it today for the first time. I have been dealing with center locks since 2011 and my 997.2 GT3. But lately I have shoulder issue and having the RennTorq made the CL's a non-issue. This tool is awesome.

How much force is needed to remove the wheels? I got a tool a month ago and finally got to try it today, cannot get my center locks off. On my torq wrench its already gotten up to 138ft-lb of torque

The removal should take around 95-100 pounds when using the tool. Try a breaker bar instead - you shouldn't really be using a torque wrench to remove bolts.

Great question. The grade of polymer used on the reaction arm to contact the wheel is important. I tried several and ended up with one that is fairly soft - it actually deforms a bit every time it is pressed against the wheel. As it deforms it spreads the force over a greater surface area which keeps the psi load in a reasonable range. The tool has been used on a number of cars and there have been zero issues. Additionally we know that Porsche themselves are comfortable with the method as it is nearly identical to what they are doing at the factory in the video below @ 9.25. I will admit I was skeptical as well until I had it made up and tried it on my own car.

i tried a breaker bar too and it won't budge... was worried i was gonna break my breaker bar. my cars 2018 with 18k miles on it, never replaced the wheels but that doesn't feel like a long time especially its mostly sunny here in cali

Anyway, 140 is only about 150% of the tightening torque and it can take more than that to loosen if the bolts need servicing.
If you’re confident you’re doing it correctly, get a longer breaker bar (or a pipe over the existing one to lengthen)

How do you know you’ve been reverse rotating at 140? Does the torque wrench click in reverse mode?

but anyways, i spoke to john on the phone, and per your suggestion as well, I’m grabbing a 3/4” 40” breaker bar, gonna give that a try to see if i can break the thing lose. Will update next weekend
