I broke my RennTorq the 4th time using it. The warranty does not cover what I was told was “my fault”: too much torque & not enough lube. I used a 24” breaker bar & large amounts of the recommended Castrol lube. I wasn’t going to post this until my friend broke his RennTorq recently. Let the buyer beware.

I've used this tool literally hundreds of times over the past couple years. No problems. Use tiny amounts of lube on the centerlock nut and threads. As important, always ensure there's no gunk on the seating surface and threads. Sorry to hear someone's has broken. From my experience, John's a very fair guy. Hopefully he can figure out some equitable solution to get it replaced.

If not regularly lubricated centerlocks can bind and in that case a torque multipler is not a suitable tool to loosen the nut. A long torque wrench is the tool to use. But for regularly wheel removal the renntorq has been very convenient to use.
