I learned this as a kid when found a very rare old penny that was apparently worth a dollar. I asked my parents why this was the case and I was told because that penny is so rare and that other people wanted the penny and were willing to pay a dollar for it. My parents said something about supply and demand. I think that covers this topic. Nothing left to say

What about supply restraint? If emissions regulations are causing production to be stopped, there is a case for supply restraint. Dealers are taking advantage of market conditions with the ADM.

Yes I saw a RL member selling his for 177 I think & it had clear bra & maybe some other goodies. Pretty good deal. Too quote one of our distinguished members, offers buy cars.

I’m not sure it’s a supply and demand thing. It seems a lot of used .2 GT3’s have been for sale so most likely some individual or a non Porsche dealer gets an allocation then they flip it to make a quick profit before the market drops or they put on too many miles. In the meantime the actual Porsche buyers who wants to keep the car and drive it as it was meant to be either has to pay a higher price to cover the 1st buyers taxes and whatever extra they can get. The flippers and the buyers who don’t really plan to keep them long enough to get even 1k miles are creating less supply which makes them seem like the demand is higher. It’s sad to me that Porsche has become this way. They are such great driving cars.

I think the Touring models will always be priced higher than other GT3s because they are a "different" car. What I mean by that is that is they attract a car buyer that may have no interest in other GT cars because of the PDK box or wing. The 911R was that kind of car but was unattainable for most. The GT4 was almost that kind of car and generated a lot of interest but if you didn't want a wing you steered away (or maybe bought a Spyder like me). I know that while I may be in a small segment of buyers I'm not alone. I was looking for a high performance car for mainly street driving that had a manual box and no wing. If you think about it there aren't many cars like that around from any manufacturer. When you have relative exclusivity you will have relatively higher prices.

Locally, they were asking $50k over for a black one and it was sold in a few days, so probably very close to that asking price. I have e actually seen that car at my local car detail place afterwards.

What do you guys think is fair price for a pre-built car but a bloated MSRP (MSRP of $180K)? Seller wants $10K over, which is a smaller ADM, but the bloated MSRP makes the car pricier than most...

At the end of the day people fixate on MSRP/ADM but just go with your gut and if it's a car you don't want to see go and you are OK with the number, go for it. Otherwise you can always wait as I am sure more .2s will pop up as they are still being built this year.
