991.2 GT3 RS
#1306
Had a chance to sit in the GT3RS at the NY Auto Show. I was a bit worried about the bucket seats, being somewhat vertically challenged. I was afraid that I would be too short and would have to sit on a pillow in the bucket seats. Turns out, the bucket seats are from the 918. There is an electric seat height adjuster at the left side of the seat. Fore aft is controlled via a manual lever along the anterior right aspect of the seat. Very supportive and comfortable side bolsters, but the seat back is fixed. The bucket seats should be comfortable for road trips. The steering wheel tilt is adjustable. This display vehicle had the Euro spec titanium roll bar. Too bad we cannot get this with the expensive WP in the US.

I feel and have said on numerous threads that in my opinion the 991.2 GT3 is much more refined then even 991.1 GT3. I have really struggled with that aspect of it since delivery. The mid-range improvements in the engine are fantastic and very noticeable on even daily drives, but doesn’t change my overall feeling that it’s too refined for my tastes. I’m really really hoping the RS doesn’t follow suit.

I know mag wheels aren't available yet. But when they are, do I understand correctly that you have to order WP plus the mags? Or will we be able to order mags separately w/out WP? Could be hypothetical question since they aren't available yet.

AMG is completely watered down trim line.
CS is the new M
M is a trim line now.
WP is the new GT3
GT3 is being completely watered down, soon slower then a GTS and bought for image and residual value. at least the motor still hangs on and justifies it, when that ends and they put it in Cabrio’s, speedsters, R, etc only WP will be the true track car?
hard to justify an RS when the weight loss costs $40K on top of MSRP and motor is in everything else. Wing is nice, but not that nice.
Enough comfort and why would anyone buy a normal 911?
Porsche urned a solid reputation and created huge demand for GT cars and they will fill it.
