Thank you Montoya for gathering the RL community 991.2 GT3 build data. It's very interesting to see the color and transmission choices of RL users. I thought manual trans selection would be 20-30% of the overall builds, but based on your spreadsheet, the manual transmission take rates are much higher.
I was invited by my dealer and attended the Porsche Driving Experience this past Friday in Michigan at the new M1 Concourse track. I've attended Porsche Driving Experience events in the past by invite. Of course, all of the cars were brand new Cayenne, Macan, 718 Boxster/Cayman and 911 GTS with PDK.
The PDK is truly phenomenal, especially on tight sections of the track, where you need both hands on the steering wheel and laser focus on the track and traffic.
That said, while PDK is awesome, I wont be changing my 991.2 GT3 build to PDK. I am sticking with a manual transmission for this build. I street drive my cars and if I want to track a car then I would track a 911 Cup car or some other dedicated track car.
I must say that the 718 Boxster was the most fun. Because it a flat 4 cylinder and revs faster, you can stay in the revs longer and the cars are very well balanced. On tight autocross, the 718 Boxster was faster than the 911 GTS that had 100 more hp. The Porsche driving instructors also said that the 718 Boxster was their favorite "fun" car.
One last thing that is interesting to note, I spoke with some Porsche brand specialist, which are NOT necessarily in the "know", and they seem to think that the 992 or next generation 911 will be more mid-engine, hybrid and that after 2018 a manual GT car will not be available. Now, that's speculation at this point, but it was interesting to hear from a Porsche employee.
We will all find out if these Porsche employees are correct in their statements in the not too distant future.

Are you doing PTS? If you have an order in do you mind sharing more information for the Database?

Yeah, it's been interesting, if this was done with the 991.1 RS guys, I think there would have been less naysayers in terms of how many we have captured, or at the very least a good comparison.
Agreed, but then there is Martin!
