Reference Guide to PTS

PTS has been around perhaps since day one!
vehicles in the early 356 period & Porsche has
continued to offer PTS to the present!
There is story (truth or myth) that the 356 Pre-A color
'Pascha Red' came about as a result of the color that
the cousin of King Farouk of Egypt custom ordered on
his Gmund Coupe! His name was Muhammed Taher
Pascha. So indeed a Gmund 356 might have been
the first PTS Porsche in 1948/1949 period!
Other sources claim the Gmund in Egypt was
ordered by Prince Muhammad Abdel Moneim.
So who knows if this story on 'Pascha Red' has
merit.
***
I remember a 'Pink' 356A Coupe ordered by a
lady in Southern California in the late 1950's.
It ewas discussed at the 356 Registry years
ago.
***
There is a claimed PTS 356 C for sale at the
moment. It's 'Orange'.

***
The factory acknowledged in Christophorus (Oct 1970) that for MY1970,
the model year of my 'Crystal Blue' 911E Targa, that 1.3% of total production
(15,749 911 & 914-6) were 'buyer match colours' - PTS!

Hi Eduardo and all:
I am copying my reply from another thread as this may be of interest here.
For those of you with PTS orders, a cool trinket is to have a custom 1:12, 1:18 or 1:43 version of your actual GT3 made by MINICHAMPS.
I ordered my Irish Green GT3 model car with them and they liked my spec and are now making a limited run of numbered 300 of my actual spec'd GT3 for 2018, matches my car interior and exterior based on my options including the CXX options. Even has my license plate. Thought that was cool. So my 1:43 GT3 will be available on their website next year - LOL! I bought #1-10 and #300 . PAG needed to be asked for approval.
I also ordered custom models of my 2015 991 turbo S cab in Birch Green and my 1966 912 in Irish Green.
---------
BELOW from MINICHAMPS:
"Cost depends on the complexity, if it is just a body color change we are at the lower end of the cost structure, if it is also the interior and other rim colors then we are moving more towards the other end, here are the price ranges:
1:43 USD 185 – 300
1:18: USD 300 – 600
1:12: USD 800 - 1300 "
You can contact Max Lang at Minichamps to place your own order MLang@Minichamps.de ..... tell them referred from Henry in Vancouver
Models cars are made in Aachen, Germany
Happy Holidays all.

Yes, sometimes! 'Lime Green' unfortunately is often used by
reference guides to represent another hue:
And at times, 'Lime Green' is 'Gelbgrün' in period color charts:
***
To be certain that everyone understands clearly what hue I am talking about,
I always refer to 'Gelbgrün' as 'Gelbgrün' to play it safe & factual, and leave
no doubt as to the color or its code (137). In fact, PAG does NOT call the color
today 'Lime Green' in the English translation of this hue in their PTS list!
Regardless whether you call it 'Lime Green', 'Green Yellow Uni'
or 'Gelbgrün', '137' is undoubtedly one of the most stunning hues
in Porsche color history!

Absolutely stunning thread! Thank you very much for all the great info.
Finally I got my allocation for a GT3 Touring and thinking about to choose a bright color.
Otherwise I would go with GT Silver.
What do you think about "Gelbgrün" or "Vipergreen" for the Touring?
I´m going with black rims, black headlights and PCCB.
Thank you very much in advance.
Best regards from Germany

Rennlist!
I am biased, but if you can
get a PTS slot, go for it!
As an aside, what is your
understanding of how difficult,
or easy, is to get a PTS slot for
a .2 gt3 (regular or Touring) in
das Vaterland?
But in between the two, I would
go with 'Gelbgrün'! More rare
that 'Viper', 'Signal Green 22S',
or 'RS Green'. And the color is
also a vintage hue from MY1974
on the early 911s.
Saludos from Scottsdale!
Friend's very original 'Irish Green' 1966 Porsche 911 SWB Coupe in the 2012 Arizona Copperstate 1000 Rally.

Hi Eduardo!
Thank you very much for your response.
My GT3 will be build in 06/18 and I got the confirmation to go with PTS.
Next saturday I will drive to Hamburg because they have a "Gelbgrün" and "Vipergreen" GTS in the showroom.
I´m thinking about to go with houndstooth seat insters with GT Silver stitching and carbon trim.
Do you think these bright colours will fit the GT3 Touring?
I don´t want to go with the wing because I don´t drive on the track - mainly on mountain passes.
