Reference Guide to PTS

Commenting publicly here on Rennlist on how a
particular color is inappropiate or unattractive
seems a risky proposition. In my threads I joke
about ONLY two colors - 'Lime Gold Metallic' &
'Nordic Gold Metallic'! I do it for two reasons:
First, I need to make fun of the 'color fashionistas'
that PAG hires at high expense & that often deeply
dissappoint us with the selection of colors they
offer (or should I say 'impose on us') on Porsche
models in recent years!
Second, because I needed to have at least two colors that
I could bury at the 'Cemetery for Unpopular Porsche Colors'
that is located at Feuerbach, just south of Zuffenhausen!
You know that spoof! But when I meet an owner of a Porsche
in one of these two 'gold metallic' hues, you will not find me
critizing their color choice! Then it's all 'schön' & 'wundervoll'!
Same holds true for too high praises for a particular
color. I get folks that pm me every week asking for
advice on a color to select for their Porsche custom
order. What I like is totally immaterial/irrelevant to
what you might like. So asking perfect strangers to
help you select a color for your expensive Porsche
seems to me like sheer folly!
But maybe the staff at 'Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur'
in Atlanta can help you. Contact them directly or via
your Porsche dealer.

But Eduardo, my dear friend, you are the Master, the Maestro, the PTS Whisperer, so it's no wonder people reach out to the Wizard of PTS for his opinion. Take it in stride--you've earned it! :-)

Contact PCNA, PAG or your P-dealer...
The 'We' indeed have it...but I refer you to the revised opening statement of
this sticky thread 'Reference Guide to PTS' as to why 'we' no longer posted
here on Rennlist:
"The Rennlist moderators have agreed to place this thread as a 'sticky' on this
forum because it encapsulates a lot of the information on PTS that we, as a
group, have generated in the past few years related to the 991 gt3 & the 991
gt3 RS. Hopefully, it will now help with questions for those trying to figure
out PTS for the upcoming .2 991 gt3 & beyond!
Sadly, PAG/PCNA has seen fit to categorize the approved PTS list for their
models as 'Confidential' starting in the summer of 2015. I have been trying
ever since to have this decision reversed since it's very short-sighted. It only
puts more of a work load on the 'Porsche Exclusive' representatives in Atlanta
& Los Angeles...and their dealers. The latest PTS list I have on file dates
from April of 2017 but I can't share if with you because of their admonition:
For the past three years, I have been trying for PCNA or PAG to arrange
a simple meeting with a representative of PTS in Germany. I told them
that I would report back to the readers of Rennlist (my threads on PTS
have over 1 million views...so it's a popular topic!) exactly what they
- Porsche - would tell me about their PTS program. So give them an
opportunity to discuss the limitations of PTS at PAG, explain the decisions
for the short PTS windows...and anything else they want to say about
THEIR program!
I have made clear to them that it's better for PAG to explain their PTS
program clearly to their potential customers to avoid the frustrations
when the requested PTS option is rejected on an order. Their customers
don't really understand why that is...and it's best to explain to all how
PAG runs the program & how best to take advantage of it!
Yet, those requests for a meeting have not been approved. And so I
am giving up on the task. So I ask all of you, rather than to contact
me via PM's & emails on this topic, to please go to the head of PCNA's
'Porsche Exclusive' in the United States & see if she & her staff can
answer your questions directly:
<PersonalDesign@porsche.us>
Interestingly, PTS is not controlled by 'Porsche Exclusive'. But they
are, by default, tasked with dealing with PTS re: their Porsche customers.
Best of luck with your custom PTS orders. You will need it!"

If you want to see the latest list, your Porsche dealer will show it to you, but is not supposed to hand you a copy to keep. I felt like I was in the rare book section of the library except it was on a computer screen. Lol.

PM me with your email and I will send you the 7/31/17 list. Last time I checked, "Porsche" was not printed at the top of my paycheck so I don't feel their call for confidentiality very compelling.

My mind has been wrestling with those greens. Thanks for that post beoliving. Any way to find out where Pure Green Y56 originated from? I've been looking to see how it looks on a 991 911, but have not found anything so far. Eduardo mentioned back in 2015 that someone in Germany was looking to order this color on a 991.1 GT3 RS, but don't know if it was done as I can't find a picture anywhere. The closest thing I've seen to resemble this color might be this:

This color called Emerald Green was the most close to Pure Green I have seen. They also had a Viper Green GT3 on display so I was able to check my photo on my iPhone 7 with the Viper Green and Pure Green sample how close it is to the real car. Surprisingly quite close, so Emerald here is close to Pure Green!
