Today.
Two forklifts were used to rescue my Porsche from a teetering hoist, after my shop was ram raided at 02:30am
They hit and bent my new hoist as they crashed through the door.
(They were scared off, and got away with: a Porsche Flag.)
The police have the security footage. Mine was the second place they hit in the same street.
There is a special place in hell for the scumbags responsible. Hopefully they can find it soon.
Thankfully, almost certainly not targeted. Opportunists, who were probably doing it more for the thrill than profit. 15 min earlier they had done the same thing at another shop. Undisturbed, they stole very little. The POSs were really only equipped to steal what they could carry in one hand (torch in the other).
My car is a manual, so in the unlikely event they could have worked out the hoist (and the lock pins), and found the key, they probably couldn’t drive it.
Hopefully karma catches up with them.

Did my first day trip to fun roads with it. A friend is planning a new rally for our motorcycle club, and we went to pre-drive one of the routes in eastern Ohio. The route was great, and this car is an absolute blast! I picked the right car.

I’ve been driving a lot of the roads I’ve enjoyed on my motorbikes previously. The car is fantastic fun.
Often my partner comes along. She enjoys the scenery as much as the Porsche. (Really remote back roads are my favourite) And tolerates the spirited driving. “Was that sliding?” “Only a little bit.”
I picked the right car, and girlfriend.
Changed the serpentine belt and tensioner, topped up the power steering fluid, and replaced some trim.
Damn that belt is a pain in the ***.
first you need a 30mm wrench, not a socket (unless it is really shallow, more shallow than any I could find)
The new belt is just thick enough to not want to go between the crankshaft counterweight and what I guess is the engine cradle.
I had to build a tool to push it through.
Then you really need to lean into the wrench to get the new belt on the tensioner.
I was going to do the water pump and thermostat, but seeing that I had to get underneath, and all is well, I'll wait till next year when I have a lift.

Painted my side vents, here's some before and after pics...used Tamiya gloss black paint after 15 different grits of sand paper, starting with 150 and ending with 2500 grit.
