Finished removing the OEM CDR30 and replaced it with Kenwood DMX908s
CDR30 is really out dated and this new HU have greatly improved my enjoyment while driving the car (it's also my daily driver now so it's nice to have proper CarPlay, etcs).
Yesterday was 60 years of Carrera Event at the local Porsche club. So I organised a little drive at the local mountain roads today for anyone that couldn’t/didn’t attend and some other friends that like to drive. I don’t discriminate if you have a passion for cars and respect each other. Was cool that we almost had all the generations together Intruder alert The 924 had to retire after a few runs unfortunately. Later that day, this arrived via a friend.
The photos taken are from a mix of people. I can’t take all the credit.
Met with some nice Nord Stern folks at the Minneapols dealer for a drive in the country to Jordan and a brunch buffet. Good weather for the drive. Had some serious rain on the way home. The Bridgestone autocross tires worked well.
I saw this on a YT video and thought I’d do this.
Do I track? No.
Will it help? Yes.
Justification? Accomplished.
Comparing the Lefts
The GT3 model is bigger, as you can see.
Left Side
Right Side
It’s a relatively easy job. I didn’t need to remove the wheels.
Removing the old is a bit tricky, as there are 2 tabs per side you need to release from behind the arm. A slotted screwdriver works. The plastic is flexible without breaking
The cost was about $5 each.
Came out to the car the other day and someone broke the driverside mirror. Must have lifted up and not in as the posts cracked completely. Good thing is the housing was still fine so I found a yellow mirror on line and switched the mirror covers and all is well.

I too contemplated this, but my mechanic said 'nah, unless you're tracking', as the extra volume of air otherwise may over-cool the brakes and initial bite in routine driving may not be as good as regular ducting.
As of course, some heat retained in disks is good and promotes effective braking.
Interested to hear your comments after some time driving, assuming you get onto it sometimes through the twisty bits and need to come to stop fast with cold brakes at least occasionally...

That's a good point to consider. I live in Lakes Country, MN. Lots of good back roads, twistys, hills, nice straights. I do 'get onto it' on these, but not to high excess.
I'll have some time to test this yet this season and I'll keep my 'eye' on the potential issues. I have the OEM's and it takes maybe 10 min. per side to swap.
After work, with the cooler summer days, I spent an unnecessarily complicated time trying to apply an anti-glare screen to my navi...
After perhaps ten attempts to fit so the edges did not catch, I realized the film perhaps wasn't cut straight.
Then, messed up in my attempt to cut it...
It does make a big difference to readability, though it looks perhaps worse in a photograph.
I did however reward myself with washing a 964, as there's nothing quite like sponging those curves...
The gammy application of the antiglare screen on the Atoto annoyed me.
After market, 1000円, Japanese made, not only fitted perfectly but also appears to be both better at the antiglaring business and easier to apply (as it was thicker I think).
