Busy day with the Cayman:
  1. new plugs and coils
  2. fresh brake fluid
  3. cleaned the wheel wells
  4. cleaned and coated the wheels

This was my second time doing plugs on the car and it went way easier than the first. Had no trouble at all with the plugs against the firewall. Schwaben plug socket, wobble bit, extension, torque wrench = no issues. Car feels snappy with the new coils, could be in my head, but the old ones were original.

Brake fluid came out super clear after 2 years. I think I'm going to start stretching brakes to 3 years and plugs to 5, I feel like with the amount of mileage I put on the car I'm going a bit overboard. If I do any track days I'll stick with the 2 years.

Long day called for an IPA...

Do the coils get weak, or just fail?
I did plugs at near 90k, and still have a slight irregular miss at idle.

Not enough to get a CEL.

Put on the 24 license tabs.

Switched out the side markers for clear LED-type from Rennline. Came drop-shipped from Pelican Parts. No instructions, but that's what YouTube is for.

I never had any desire to change the color for cosmetic reasons and stick with the incandescent bulbs. I'm a fan of LEDs. I'm a fan of function. Rennline promised me these would be brighter. They are. They also have a very fast sequential action in the turn-signal/4-way mode which may or may not attract attention. Safety Fast.

Default Updated the Center Console Area

I saw a pic of a 986 Sand Beige with a Black Center console. I liked this enough to do mine.
I removed the center console part, painted it Gloss Black.
I also painted the trim piece around the base of the shifter, painted the roughed-up sliver trim piece also.

Topping it off with a Black Shifter and Boot.
It gives the interior a better look, offsetting all the Sand Beige.

Have you considered continuing up the center console and across the dash trim? Also the steering wheel? Basically all the gray, change to black?

No, not at all.
The other trim is darker silver metallic and provides a needed barrier between the colors.
the 'gray' on the wheel is aluminum.
I've seen too many others that have painted all trim in their cars 'body color', etc.
it just wouldn't look good in this cr

Polished headlights.

Before: driver side headlight polishing is in progress. Passenger side is not started yet.

After. 90% happy with the result.

Flushed the brake fluid and bled the clutch. The bite point of my clutch was very high and there was some judder when starting from a stop. Much improved afterwards

Wise person; with two methods of support, stands and wheels.
I saw some loon on the internet this last week with his car on four stands, and nothing else.
Darwin award pending there for sure...
