Took her out early for a top down drive up the mountain. Cooler up there, overall a wonderful 100 mile drive. Beautiful long views of oaks, pines, cactus, brush, and rock.
Where was I ?
Now for a wash....
Getting ready to remove the front bumper cover to replace a leaking condenser and replace the drier on my 987.2. If any of you guys have any tips or special insight, feel free to comment. I watched a youtube on it and it doesn’t seem to be too complicated. There aren’t any shops close by that would know about Caymans so I’m going to do what my dad taught us growing up, figure it out. I’m going to install the screens while I have the cover off and hopefully we won’t get another leak.
Thanks in advance.

@Cayman292 I have just removed and replaced my bumper for the second time in the last two years. I intended to post something on it, but I haven't yet had the chance.
Two tips that I can offer -
1) There are about 20-25 T25 & T30 screws that Porsche uses to attach the bumper and inner wheel wells to the unibody. To ensure that I was able to successfully put them back where I took them from, I found it useful to create a list of what went where.
2) The headlight/foglight wiring harness is attached to the unibody. If you know how to disconnect it, it's a trivial piece of work. If you don't, you may get very frustrated and break it. At the 7:14 mark, this vid shows exactly how to take it apart,

There are 2 metal clips each side of the top of the bumper cover, between the fender and the bumper cover. Passenger side Bumper Clip
They are a bitch to remove, especially if they are rusted in.
I had to replace both of mine.

If you insert a small screwdriver or pick tool, under that edge-flap, left side, it releases the clip from the bumper and you can pull out the right-angle end with the hole in it. Mine were so rusted, that flange broke off.

The summer maintenance program on my 987.2 S track car has included:
Replace Tilton pump for PDK gearbox cooler (previous one had cracked after 8+ seasons).
Added BRS Billet PDK Transmission Pan for slightly better cooling and simpler filter replacement.
Oil change with Motul 300v Competition (15W50)
Remove bumper cover and clean radiators (long overdue).
Four new Fikse three-piece wheels. My shop had discovered four cracks in the right front wheel (gulp!). The old CCWs had worked hard for 8+ seasons and it was time (overdue) to replace them.
New wheels studs all around. Again, the prior studs had gone 8+ seasons.
Lastly, this past Monday I took her in for an alignment and corner balance.
Next up, I'll do new pads (Ferodo DS1.11) and a semi-annual brake fluid flush (SRF)
Looking forward to my next HPDE at Motorsport Ranch in Cresson TX in late September. Hopefully we'll be done with 100+ *F days by then.
I freshened up the touch points on my 2009 base box.
2023 Cayman GT4 wheel in alcantara. Custom made shift **** from Built by Basil.
I am not stoked about the alcantara shift boot...yet. It is such a flexy material the stock leather or vinyl holds a crease much better. I have to tighten it down better.
Would love to find those 1/8" staples porsche uses to hold the stock boot.
I had my 06 Boxster base towed to my Indy as I think a belt broke, a pulley came loose or the water pump failed again. I did have the top down so that was the only plus of the morning lol....
