My wife told me I should have said something like... "Dude, I don't know who owns this car, but it's running with the keys in it, wanna steal it!?"

or

"No it's not mine, it's owned by the head of the local drug cartel, he coming to pick it up in a minute or two, want to meet him? They could use a few good men because the last two went missing."

No cool pics today, just a mundane task completed. Checked and cleared 6 drains, lubed all hinges and top mechanisms, Vinylex'd all weather stripping for doors, lids, and top.

Found all 4 drains in battery compartment, 2 under the top apparatus, but did not find drains under the spoiler. Seems that area just drains into the bumper cover itself... unless I'm missing something.

Default 987.2 fun

Had new updated oem shift cables and brackets installed together with Powerflex motor mount inserts. (Had oem short shifter installed several years ago). Big noticeable improvement in gear engagement action—no “stress” and easier, firmer, quieter. Waiting for the shift **** weight kit and should put icing on the cake.

Yeah, #6 is the one that eludes me. Puzzled as to where it is hiding.

Replaced grey trim around shifter with shiny silver, to match the upper trim strip that I installed a while back.
I was really happy to find that I did not have to remove the shifter **** (can be snug) to do this

Original grey trim

Silver trim installed

Drove my Cayman to a Cars and Coffee at Autosport Designs Inc in Huntington Station NY. Incredible work they do there on all classics, plus they are a Lotus dealer for new cars. Here's a quick blog about just 4 vehicles I saw there, Lambo 400 GT 2+2, Lambo LM002, current Bugatti, and a couple of Ferrari 308s. Lots of Porsche 356s, Aston Martins, etc in the shop. http://www.nms-racing.net/2021/05/au...nd-coffee.html

Snagged a used Carnewal'd exhaust from a previous Cayman owner, cleaned them up, and installed them.
All I can say is YouTube videos and smartphone recordings just don't do justice for how one of these flat6's sound live and in person.
Once I dropped it off my lift and lit it up in the barn, well........ Now I understand all the raves. Just amazing.

Little before /after pics

Just got back from a long weekend at Amelia Island. Porsche Werks Reunion event on Friday. Concours on Sunday. My grey Boxster below. Finished 4th in judging (just out of a trophy) out of 11 in the class! There's hope for a Boxster base model!

Replaced the worn out, 12 year-old ignition switch trim. Really easy to do and I'm NOT paying $185 for the leather wrapped version...

What did you use to polish the mufflers? Looks great! My Carnewal is in the mail now, would like to shine it up before installing.

Just a heavy duty drill and a couple of wire brush wheels. The trick for me was to just take my time, not use my strength but let the drill and the brush do the work. Oh, and I sat in a very comfortable chair and had each work piece situated for a comfortable reach. And finally, lots of fresh Ice Tea.

The whole thing looked fresh and ready to get its own new patina after a couple of good heat cycles.

Underrated upgrade. Looks terrible on pretty much every car Ive seen but only takes $20 and 2 minutes to replace.
