What did you do with your 987 today?

Went to get gas and when I came outside the gas attendant taking a break asked if it was my car and said I hope you don't mind I took this picture and sent it to my girlfriend. He said the car is so hot. So this picture was sent to me by a young fan. I thought I would share this and not to take our ownership of these amazing cars for granted.

I was a gas station attendant in Alabama during the mid-60's...The routine so engrained that I could do it in my sleep...Greet 'em with a smile and ask what they needed...Gas cap off, pump nozzle in...Hustle around to clean the windshield while keeping an eye on the pump, especially when they ask for a specific dollar amount worth ($2.00 would get them 6+ gallons)...Rag in hip pocket for checking the oil (If requested)...Tire gauge in shirt pocket for checking tires (If requested)...Pump nozzle out and gas cap back on...Back to the driver's window...Take the cash (No credit cards at the station back then) and relieve them of any trash they handed you. My starting pay $0.35 an hour and I worked up to $0.50 an hour before I left for college. It should be noted that due to the mini-skirt trend of that era, some windshields were much more thoroughly cleaned than others...

I installed a 27mm GT3 master cylinder over the weekend. I've also driven 10k miles since I purchased my car in May.

Wrapped the driving lights and daytime LEDs in smoked vinyl. 80% of the light still shows through when they are on. I may wrap the driving lights in satin black vinyl as I feel that the driving lights date the look of the car plus they don't do crap for lighting up the road. I'd rather they just never be on. Since the driving lights are LEDs they hardly give off any heat so it shouldn't impact anything if none of the light can escape.

I smoked mine and then did a light blue… not bad

Driving lights are user selectable?
I thought I could enable/disable the driving lights from the settings menu on the tach........
Oh yeah, changed out the front motor mount, made another post about it, great improvement.....
Also rebuilt the front brake calipers, one of the small pistons was stuck in on one of the calipers...... cleaned up that mess, and put in new seals and dust boots...... pedal feel is improved......

Not today but this past weekend:
Installed OEM Shifter cables and updated brackets. Not a hard job at all if you have the right tools. Would've been done in 3-4 hours if I didn't struggle with the shifter bracket that is on a shaft going into the transmission. I had 2 jaw pullers in multiple sizes but the shape and location of the updated bracket made it impossible to grab onto it. Bracket would not come off with heat or pry bar. A trip tp Harbor Freight for a pitman arm remover and it was off in 20 seconds. Shifts are very similar to the 718s Ive driven. Super crisp and defined- I would deff recommend.
I also installed a Cayman R exhaust on my 09 base Cayman. Fits right up, sounds as it should from the factory. I had to torch and pound out all 6 studs as they all snapped. No rust on any components other than those studs... Deeper idle, and now instead of vacuum noise while accelerating, you actually get a nice flat 6 noise!. No drone but you do know you have an exhaust. Car feels quicker too even if that is just placebo. I'll try and get some rolling videos since the cold start sounds good even on the factory exhaust but in reality it's super quiet.
I paid $1100 shipped which is a lot for a low mileage used Cayman R exhaust with the black tips, $100 more than a Carnewal or Faster modified exhaust after you take into consideration shipping your factory unit. I didn't want to go aftermarket as I wanted something quieter than what most offer and didn't want to deal with drone.
I'll update the thread with driving videos hopefully this week.
