Okay, I need some help. I have a 987.1 2006 Cayman S 6 Speed. Not sure what happened, but all of a sudden it started knocking, so I pulled right over as I was going 25 in the neighborhood and parked the car. It had a lot of metal shavings in the oil. Car is fairly loaded with all the options possible for the year. 1 previous owner before me, and he has receipts for almost 90k on the car. (Not including the sticker of the car) He had just replaced all the suspension etc. $12k dollar bill from Porsche. I have the receipts. Car has 136k miles on it, and I don't have time or place to tear it up and fix it. Shops are wanting over $30k to rebuild it right addressing all the oiling issues on these cars. What would you guys suggest I should try to get for the car as it sits? Trying to figure out a value

I just went through this, if it has a clean title and no damage has ever been reported on it a dealer will buy it and simply swap out the engine and sell it as a regular used car. Below is my post from a few months ago. I would list it on Craigslist for at least $14k and go from there.
"Just a follow up for anyone trying to sell one with a blown engine. I listed it on craigslist Chicago for 8k and it sold within 5 minutes and the guy, who was an independent car dealer, came by with the cash within 1/2 hour and the deal was done. In hindsight I would list any 2008 or 2007 s model with a blown engine for maybe 10-12k or more depending on how much more used car prices become inflated because you can always go down in price."

At 16,3xx miles this car is near mint; there are no scratches, accidents; true garage queen. It is a blast to drive. Never abused, heated garage. Clear NY title in my name. I've had it since July 2020; I just need to downsize a bit.
Car is no longer listed in Marketplace, RL doesn't allow editing after 2 weeks and I don't know of a button doesn't say "sold" which it isn't. I just can't accept any offers now that I have signed a contract.

NOTABENE: I have been informed by Pcarmarket that there are no restrictions on negotiations on this vehicle. Pcarmarket has ended the auction and the 1/19 contract expiration in DealTank is a misnomer and is not in effect, I am free to negotiate the sale to any ready, willing, and able buyer w/o commission to Pcarmarket. My 18k mile 2012 Cayman R is listed here in the RL Marketplace, while I await the BAT listing to go live - likely near end of March. Maybe someone gets to save themselves a few dollars in avoiding the buyers fee. Looking for $78k
