Default 987's for sale in the wild..

This sticky thread is mostly for people to post 987's and 981's they've stumbled across when browsing the web... ones that aren't listed in our marketplace.

We'll see how this works and consider if we want to keep it.

UPDATE: Since we've split the 987/981 forum into two distinct forums, I've left this thread intact in the 987 forum (and renamed it) and created a new thread in the 981 forum with relevant posts from this thread copied over to that thread. That one can be found at: https://rennlist.com/forums/981-foru...-the-wild.html

I'll start off - since I just saw this one browsing Craig's List: https://cnj.craigslist.org/cto/d/fle...190175550.html It's a 2009 Boxster, looks good, has PDK and about 70k miles on it. The price is quite reasonable at an ask of $18,5k if CarFax is clean and it passes a PPI. It is the good year - good engine, no IMS, and it has PDK so no over-rev worries... It's in NJ.

If someone is REALLY interested in it - it's not so far from me that if you arranged for the owner to meet me somewhere midway I could possibly eyeball it for you. Aside from the exterior color - it looks identical to my '09.

Love this thread idea! Here’s a car that’s at one of my local dealerships (Porsche Marin) in the SF Bay Area:

https://www.porschemarin.com/used-Mi...CB2A8XGS140515

6-Speed 981 Boxster GTS - $65k | 35k mi | VIN: WP0CB2A8XGS140515
Guards Red on Black/Beige Leather Interior

Notable parts from the build sheet are that the car has PTV and quite a lot of cosmetic options (GTS Exterior Package; lots of additional leather; colored interior trim), but does NOT have an upgraded sound system.

I think the car is overpriced for its mileage, but manual 981 Boxster GTS’s are extremely rare. No experience with this dealership, but from looking at previous listings, they do tend to price their cars on the higher end. I am actually personally in the market for a manual 981 BGTS, but Guards Red is a deal breaker and I’m not a fan of some of the other cosmetic options, so this is a no go for me.

A 2008 RS60 Spyder went live on Bring A Trailer yesterday: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...s-60-spyder-3/. Red interior and top, 6-speed manual, bi-xenon lights, Sport Chrono, Bose.

Not mine, no affiliation, etc., etc. Mine has ~30k more miles and is staying in metro Detroit for the foreseeable future!

People should post VINS for any listing so that any information can be tracked in the future.

I feel like MarketPlace ad's plus Rennlist Ads should be allowed.

Agreed 100%, it would be nice to have a consolidated spot for all 987/981’s so we can focus on one spot. I have to think that it’s in Rennlist’s best interest too

For those looking for a nice Spyder, this one just got listed on BAT: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...ter-spyder-35/

Marketplace ads can be referenced with a thread on the main 987/981 forum. There really isn't a good reason I can think of to change that. This thread was intended for posting cars for sale NOT on RennList. Adding in cars for sale on RennList really ends up with redundancy. If you want to forgo the MarketPlace ad - and restrict your ad to this thread, that doesn't cause a problem for me. In that case - the paid member rule still applies. You must be a paid RennList member to post anything FS (or WTB/WTT/etc). I'd also suggest if you want to use a MarketPlace ad - then post a link and a 1 line description of what you're selling here.

i would even be inclined to go one step further with this request/suggestion....I'd love to see a sticky specifically for 987/981 items for sale so as to avoid having to scroll through the infinite listings in the marketplace while looking the rare cayman/boxster nugget that might be hiding in there.

Another 2008 Boxster RS60 Spyder just popped up on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2008-Porsch...QAAOSw8WJfZj~a

It's also listed on the seller's website, Hovey Motorcars outside of San Antonio, TX. Red interior, black top, 6MT, Bose; asking $33k with 75k miles, which seems a bit high to me, but who knows these days?
