981 Sport Chrono Retrofit part 2: software side
#91
Hey @Visual , I was wondering which option in Kombiinstrument is the one that codes in Performance pages. I found Byte 4 G Force and Byte 7 Chrono, but I can’t seem to figure out which one is for the Performace pages. Thank you for already creating this very detailed instructions and I hope you can be of help!

Maybe there's another possibility to try
Thank you very much for your note. I tried to find what you screenshotet in the F7-Section (Fahrzeugauftrag) of PIWIS - but unfortunately I did not find the COMPASS in German PIWIS.
Maybe you can do a short step-by-step guide how to enable this? I would be really greatful. Thanks
I only found out, how it is done at a Porsche Cayenne 92A - but maybe someone who was not able to unlock the SPORT PLUS button in a 981 yet can give it a try?
ONLY for vehicles with PCM 3.1:
Would really appreciate a feedback, if this is working or not at a 981.
Strange thing is, I even cannot find it in simulation mode - there's only THIS to find and try on 981 I guess:

- In PIWIS diagnostic press F7 to enter the additional menu. Press F11 to confirm the question "Create vehicle analysis log (VAL).
- Select "Maintenance of vehicle data" function and press F12 until "PR numbers" appears in the value group column.
- Select "Compass" in the family column. Touch the empty cell behind "Compass" - a dropdown menu appears.
- There you need to enable option "QR5 - Sport Chrono Package Plus" and confirmed.
- Then you need to switch to "Overview" menu and press F11, select ALL control units (Ctrl+A) and press F12 to continue.
- Select "Automatic coding" mode and press F12 to continue.
- Wait until "Coding has completed successfully" message appears.
ONLY for vehicles with PCM 3.1:
- Select "PCM" control unit. Press. F12 to continue.
- Switch to the "Maintenance/repairs" menu.
- Select the "Function enable" menu item. Press F12 to continue.
- Select the "Sport Chrono" function. Enter the enable code and press F8 to execute.
- Wait until "Enable was successful" appears. Press F12 to continue.

Activation Codes
Got mine at naviheaven.com pretty much a renamed codefastbuy.com. I have a 2014 911 Carrera S with a 01/14 build date and the codes worked for my PCM 3.1 unit but not on my AC unit where all the important functions are - Sport Plus, PSM Sport. I believe there is a cut off date to when these codes could work but I’m not very sure.

I got my from Dmitry Sokolov ; his email is porschecode@gmail.com. Not sure how he gets it , and really don't want to know. I just know he's been super helpful and while it was a little scary at first sending $100 to a random dude on the internet, every time i've used him he's come through and been extremely helpful.
Hope this helps.
PS : ended up adding the sport chrono clock. a little scary cutting up the dash but...it's a small nice touch

Hi all,
So I bought a chrono package code from one of these websites and went to my local indy shop to install it via PIWIS.
The Indy shop guy said that they managed to get the G-forces meter but launch control would require the button, so I went out and bought a whole center button module from 911design, I will be safe keeping the new module incase I needed to change it at some point before my 992.2 arrives next year.
Apart from G-forces and Launch control sequence, is there anything else you get from Sport Plus Chrono package (from the software side of the install) ?

I went back to the shop and asked if the code was needed for the-gforces and they said no but they still went ahead and charged for 2 hours labour and over that, they couldn't enable sport plus' option with code that I purchased and at the same time, now when the car is in sport mode, that indicator doesnt show up on the steering cluster anymore. I paid for something extra and I got less :-(
is there anyone out there that is a guru with the PIWIS that I can hire to remote access and enable the sport chrono code ?
thanks

The Indy shop I take the car to is a porsche specialist but lack the advanced knowledge on the PIWIS, they have mentioned to me that they dont mind giving remote access to the PIWIS to someone who is able to activate the sport plus option on the car, they can have remote access via Team viewer.

Those instructions are great. Thanks for sharing.
I wouldn’t expect any shop to recommend doing this. This is well outside their typical repairs. You really have to want Sport Chrono to undertake this project. How badly do you want it? If they have you convinced not to do, then don’t take the risk.

Hi all,
tried to activate Sport Plus today using a Piwis 3 on my 2014 981 Boxster S but it failed at this point. The BKE won't accept the code...
Can someone assist please? Is it because this needs a Piwis II?
