Well that looks like the way to go. What length belt did you use with the a/c comp and extra idler pulley?
If you guys get 911 and Porsche World magazine in the States, look out for the 200th November issue ;-)

Carl,

Whatever happened to a 944S2 variant of the supercharger kit? Specifically one that doesn't require cutting bodywork or removing the light mechanism. Is such a kit likely in the near future?

Chris,

I used the belt that was supplied with the kit. Find yourself an old ac and gut it. That's the best option will we find a proper lightweight roller to put in it's place.

No plans on developing such a kit from us. As challenging as the 968 was, it had more room in front of the engine and no headlamp lift mechanism - both things the 944 lacks. The shorter nose on the 944 and the headlamp mechanism combine to make a bolt on kit much, much more difficult.

These guys that are installing our 968 kit on their 944S2 are almost all racers, so the headlamp mechanism is gone, and they dont mind a little drill and cut work here and there...

I can`t find the supplied belt anywhere. Does it have the length printed on it ie; 6PK****, or can you help Carl?

Agreed, although it can be done. In race mode (no lights and other non essentials) there is room after modification. There are other issues that need to be addressed as well. I will try to post those as well for those that might be interested.

We are shipping a belt we get at NAPA and it is made by Gates. The NAPA part number is 25-060620.
My understanding is that "060620" translates to "6 rib, 620mm"

So "620" in Gatesspeak = 62 5/8"

Anyway, 25-060620 is the correct part number.

Don`t know what you paid for the a/c compressor, but the breakers here in the UK want silly money and even sillier money for a siezed one!

Mine was free! From a good friend that had one that was not working. Actually, he has a 944 graveyard

Chris,

I found the packaging for the belt, actual size is 20mm x 1591 mm OC or 13/16 x 62-5/8.

I got the intercooler plumbed and SC cooling fan and hose installed. Still need to find a 3" connecter that will work with the air intake positioning.

Just back from my first track day with the SC.
I performed faultlessly as did the car, temperature got up to the other side of the lower mark, but nothing untoward, no excessive oil consumption, though 3/4 tank of petrol/gas used over 120 miles of serious use.
The car felt fast, but not extra 100BHP fast, a bit of lag around 3-4000, then takes off to the red-line.
So still a bit of development to do, to get the full potential
