I hear ya man.

Putting stuff back together can be so fun. Especially after detailing it all, then you spill coolant all over everything!

Well just don't be stingy on pictures. You know we like seeing that cab!

You got it CR. There are times when I can get too caught up to take pictures but I will try my best to take as many pictures as possible. Now the fun part begins .

Raj- Good gosh man, looks like I'm missing all the fun. Great job and I'm glad to read it's now going back in the car. Wish I lived closer I'd give you a hand...

Cheers Mike

Mike, nothing is in the car just yet. It should start coming together in the next few days. Too much stuff going on with work, moving and car now!!
Yikes.

Sounds like you're moving right along! You should post the pics of the engine after cleaning it, it looked so nice...

One thing I can say is that your pictures are very helpful for me to see what a PITA it will be getting to the balance shafts! Thanks!

In those last couple pictures I was wondering "what the hell is that all over the floor?" I then realized it was your filing system. The tupperware system of parts separation.

Ryan, its better and free. I use old soup containers from the chinese place to sort all the nuts/bolts/washers. I have them seperated by size, length and head type.
The big bin is the batch of parts I had plated. A lot of the parts are from my turbo. I like the new finish better than the one I used on the turbo engine so eventually I will change everything on the turbo to the new finish.

Update: 3/24/2008
Bell housing and clutch setup is on. Its so much easier to work on it when the engine is out of the car.
Waterpump is on as well.
We will attempt to get the engine back in today and mount it to the torque tube.

Update:3/29/2008
I haven't updated in a while but have been making progress here and there.
Shortblock is in the car along with crossmember and steering rack. Steve was kind enough to stop by and give a helping hand. We did this on wednesday.
I finally put the gastank in. It had to be by far the biggest PITA job I have ever done on a Porsche. It would help having a 2nd person but I didn't have that luxury.
Transmission crossmember is in as well.
Most rear suspension is complete.
Front suspension is in.
Should be torquing front and rear suspension pieces tonight.
Regards.

The new finish looks like yellow zinc dichromate. Did you have them baked as well?
