Luis, that is exactly what it is. They plating company was very nice and accomodated my request until they got the color right. They even stayed late on Easter weekend just to redo the batch so that I would be happy.
My dilemma is that I like the new finish more than what I recieved last time from a Cali compnay. This would mean a tear down of the turbo in the future all over again .

Update: 4/1/2008
Rear timing belt cover is in
BS sprockets are on
New tie rod inners are in
New alternator is in
Ac compressor is on
Plan to get the front swaybars in along with exhaust hangers and BS pulleys and belt in today.
Still waiting on head and transaxle.
So far I have 11 gallons of fuel in the gas tank and no leaks. I plan to add additional 4.5 gallons to day and see what happens. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Raj,

"Some Maintenance Work" my rear!...the only thing that would top the work you are doing would be a frame up restoration! Or unibody...

Good luck. It's great to follow your (rapid) progress. Very interesting and definitely educational. It's already made me go out and buy some new tools.....

Thanks!

Harvey

Bad news: Looks like the head won't get completed anytime soon. The machine shop guy is in the hospital and his son does not do head work.
Good thing I have a spare fresh head. I was hoping I wouldn't need it but I guess it might be my only ticket at this point.
So this means the final engine assembly will take priority going forward. I will update with pictures soon.

Update: 04/15/08
Things are looking pretty bleak for Hershey .
Haven't been able to get everything I need to finish the car. I was away all of last week on Vacation so didn't get much done. With our house up for sale, its been hectic on that end as well.
I will still try but at this point its begining to dawn upon me that Hershey might not be possible.
Regards

Raj,

I see you have the special tool for cam installation/removal. Is the mating surface to the cams just flat? It looks like you could put those togather with a couple section of "allthread" and 2 blocks of metal. Wood might even work. Any thoughts?

GD, if anything, the mating surface is cut in a semi circle, just like a cam would. That is the part which pushes on the cams and it has chamfers for the dowel pins for bearing caps
I can take pictures of the tool by itself if that helps.

04/18/2008 Update

She is running and running very well. I am really excited. The car started on the 1st crank. A little bit of lifter noise at the begining and that was about it. It was smooth within secs. I ran her for approx 20 mins or so on water for now, checking for leaks. So far so good. I will drain all the water tomorrow and replace it with coolant and distilled water mix. Excuse the dirty engine bay since I have not cleaned it yet.
A few pictures to share..

I would like to thank God and everyone on Rennlist for the encouragement and support through this project. Its not over yet. My transmission is currently tied up due to shim backorder and that is my last hurdle to make it to Hershey in my car.
Anyone have a spare transaxle I can borrow for next weekend .

I wish my underhood stuff was as clean as that! I don't dare spray it with anything and I'm not sure I have the patience to give it the Q-tip treatment. Beautiful work, Raj. Beautiful car.
