Looks good but I would think that it is a bit overkill. If you are still running the stock mounting points to the tub they will fail long before the hardware even stock grades. If you want added strength "in case" You might consider cutting out the stock mounting and weld in some steel bars to mount the seats to.
Yes I agree with this. We are going to be reinforcing the stock mounting positions and I'd like to move to m10 hardware but that may make rail fitment an issue. Not sure m10 bolt heads will fit in the rails.
Anyway we plan to weld reinforcement brackets and reinforce the nut mounting plates. Cutting them out and welding in new mounts is also an option. Will need to see after I get it apart.
This exercise was mainly for a couple track days I have to hold me over with a better seat. And to test fitment etc.
Chris are those Porsche recaros sliders different than the regular recaro sliders? Do you have the part number for them? I'm gonna be putting in recaros pp or cs soon and need to figure out the method of mounting I prefer not to use seat brackets if they are not necessary.
I think they are. You just want flat rail sliders. No angled connections. I just have car-slider-upright-seat On my rs it goes Car-adapter plate-slider-upright-seat
Perfect thanks that's helps a lot. And saves me a good amount of weight by not using the steel mounting brackets.

Just read the entire thread. Amazing work and very inspiring. Can't wait to see the finished interior.
Car has a great stance and the bbs wheels goes so well with the red car.
Went out to play today at Buttonwillow Raceway with Speed District. LOTS of track time!!! Over 2 hours, just got home, beat! Josh hooks you up with pics as part of the fees so here a bunch of them. If you have track experience this is a really good group. Fast drivers, the advanced group drivers are very good, very aware, no aggressive behavior. Even though my car was one of the slowest in the group and it's open passing.
Car is such a blast. I did loop it at about 60mph into the dirt. Oops. Went into the long sweeper called riverside too hot, back end started to slide, stayed on it, caught it, but ran out of track, was still putting steering input when 2 wheels went off and it was done. Guess what I get to do tomorrow Am early? vacuum a lot of dirt out of the car.

Car looks great. A bit different and less forgiving than the RS but a lot of fun. I bet you will find that after driving this on track for a while that driving the RS will be even easier.
BTW my wife did that at VIR and three years later I was still cleaning out dirt and straw. Everyone had fun with it and someone placed a large John Deere sign on the side of the car.
So I started cleaning the inside of the car before we head out for some family stuff today B that turned into a "let's put that wiper delete in" which turned into a "let's just spend a few mins pulling the sound deadening off...." Which turned into a freaking mess. Rear deck cover will go back on for now. I'm probably going to pay one of the shop helpers to do the real deal. All the rumors. True. Pita.
Rear decks is has maybe 5lbs of that crap alone. I will put an appbiz sound pad back there prior to the rs carpet kit going in.
So off comes wiper, sound material, speakers, seat belts, etc. speakers are some vintage 1995 polk audio.
I'm sure everyone realizes by now but every part that comes off gets bagged and tagged and boxed with what it is :-)
Good news? No surprises back here. Except an old dead bee.
Oh and it is louder now. Nice. Let's see if wife rides when I'm done.
What's the goal in removing all the sticky-icky residue if you're going to put some more carpet and/or insulation over it? OCD?
Mostly. Weight? :-)
So car weighed 2900 lbs when it left the shop.
Since then I've (weights estimated)
Removed lower dash: 10 lbs
Removed passenger airbag and brackets: 6 lbs
Swapped driver seat: about 25lbs
Removed rear speakers: 5 lbs
Removed rear sound deadening: about 10 lbs
Removed wiper: 6 lbs
Rear seat backs: 15 lbs
Rear Seat belts: 5 lbs
Total: 82 lbs
Left to remove:
Passenger seat: 25 lbs
Rest of sound deadening: 50 lbs?
Interior rear paneling, rear deck cover: 10 lbs
Amp and other misc unused electronic modules: 5lbs
Rear wing swap, shocks, motor assembly, etc: 20 lbs?
Fan single belt and pulley swaps to single (steel -> aluminum) : 5 lbs
Engine mounts: 5 lbs
Headers: 20 lbs?
Light flywheel: 15 lbs
Fog removal to ducts: 5 lbs
Total: 160 lbs
Add:
roll bar / belts: 50 lbs
Oil cooler: 20lbs
2900 - 82 - 160 + 70 = 2728. I'd be very happy with that result. Goal is 2700-2750. More than that I'm looking at carbon body parts and losing convenience.

Those numbers are a bit optimistic. You might try weighing some like the rear wiper and passenger airbag for some they don't weigh as much as you think. Still a great start.
