Maybe filling the tank with fire retardant foam could help the surge of fuel .

Love how clean, simple and purposeful it looks on the track.

Despite the boots looking in perfect condition one of them blew out on the track so all four will be replaced repacked with new grease and joints inspected.

The parts are only about $50 including all new bolts and axle nuts but I will stop out the rebuild there is an axle shop near my house that does the job for about $100 it's well worth the money because cleaning CV joints is a filthy mess

You'd have to get that foam they use for fuel cells. i think an easier solution is a small surge tank with an external pump like they use on race cars.

Or, just keep it more than 1/4 full on track

Just to clarify, the 964 fuel pump is not inside the tank.

I should have clarified, i realize the pump is not in the tank... an additional pump on the surge tank.

Danny has several pics on 3 and 2 wheels, he was driving WAY harder than me!

Picked up axles yesterday, cleaned up the grease mess, re-installed last night, anti-seize on the splines, got lucky that ebrake was able to hold the axle for torquing nuts to 340 ft lbs. (thanks to BBI for letting me borrow their massive 3/4" 4ft long snap on torque wrench for a couple hours!!!), new axle nuts (porsche changed the style on these to a new style part), new cv flange bolts installed, torqued, paint marks on all for inspections, ready to go! Blown boot cost: About $250 total and 3 hours of my time.

Lesson learned, service axles when they are out of car, even if the "LOOK" good (and they did!) :-)

Oh followed up axle job with a wash and wax of the car. It's gleaming.

Put away in my other garage may be a few weeks before I drive it again. Had a few teenagers compliment the car. They have good taste. Lol

Also got the carnewal cooler setup. It's NICE. This is a great piece of kit.
And my new rear lenses arrived and belts too for the rothsport belt conversion
Wing should be ready for pickup this week.

Phase 1a starts soon.

Changed oil and filter on my 89 today too, did a pch cruise. Drive eat drive some more.

What improvements do you get with the Carnewal cooler? Does it replace the oem unit or is it an additional cooler?

What did they update on the V1? I went to their site and input my SN came back up to date even though it is around 10 years old.

i think you need to click the 'ok' button again... if you have never had it updated it for sure needs it.

I have 2 V1, one lives in my cayenne, the other I move between the sports cars. CA is a laser and KA band state... the CHP lover their KA band.

Anyway, one was very old and was getting a massive amount of false alarms lately. There may have been an issue with it, the newer one did not.
But the basic changes are better filtering for various false alarms and better range on Ka band. Along with I'm sure other enhancements internally. I think it was $60 to update one and $200 on the other. could have sold it but was unsure if it was working right. They sent 1 complete new unit (kept old one) + 1 updated unit (got my old one back).
