Hi Neil, I’m taking the ferry on 4/4, staying in Blenheim that night. Then the weather will be taken into account as to whether we go West Coast or East Coast. My preference is West Coast. The C4 is possibly in its best ever road trip condition. Wet weather is not a problem for me but the long hood may not be so keen. Are you in NZ then?

Yes I agree- this thread is gold with tis and tricks.
This roads are epic! The 964 was geared a bit high for my local roads (fixed that though).. still I'm jealous every time I see pics of your trips- places where the 964 can really stretch its legs. I just added some recaro sportster seats and I can just fit in a good position with a helmet. Really wanted a set of buckets but rear access is still needed. The stock seats are not light an easy to pull in and out are they? I have a set of the sport seats but they just didn't work for me with a helmet- or for my height.
Anyway- looking forward to some trip reports.

Yes, it is a bit misleading. I often forget what, when and how I did something so I Google my own thread to find it. Some of it is so long ago, it feels like another person did it. Good to hear it helps others.
The thing is John, if you do any job on your cars, it is a reference for anyone else that is unsure of what it might involve. Carry on what you are doing, we do appreciate it, honest!

I put the car up on the lift to do a pre-trip inspection and all was good except markings under the car indicating someone had used a Jack to lift the car without spreading the load. Grrr. I’ll sort that out this week.
