I agree with you: I didn't see anywhere in the ad that the car was resprayed or re-dyed, and the owner told me on the phone when I asked him directly, that it was not repainted nor was it re-dyed. I hope to have more details tomorrow.

That's very strange. But thanks for closing the loop.

Even more curious to see what Max has to say about the car.

The 964 market is officially facepalm.

Saw the car today. Owner is a stand-up guy and a Porschephile with an incredible '74 Carrera along with the short time ownership of the '91 964 C2.

It has been repainted and it looks very good.

Looks like the front bumper and the black plastic piece below it was replaced.

Not a nick or blemish except for a tiny one in the passenger side drip rail...

along the windshield trim...

and on the driver side rear quarter near the side window, but you have to get inches away and squint to see it.

All the panel, door and trunk seams are properly aligned. No waviness in any body panels.

Weather stripping and all rubber has been replaced or refurbished to look like new.

All windows are free of cracks.

Rims are free of scuffs or dents. Tires are new Continentals.

Seats seem to have been dyed and cracks filled. Scuffs on the driver's seat bolster.

No rips or tears. Carpet is okay--not great. Seats adjust and belts buckle properly. Power windows operate from both doors.

Trunk and frunk opens easily with new struts rear and front.

No funky smells or signs of smoking in the car. All gauges, buttons and ***** work. Headliner intact and sun visors functional. No dashboard warning lights remain illuminated.

Stereo is cheap aftermarket that I didn't bother listening to. Who cares?

Heater and AC works. Windshield wipers work and are new. Didn't check if the wiper fluid dispenses properly as I didn't want to get anything on the beautiful paint.

Dashboard is free of cracks.

Car steers straight and does not pull when brakes applied. They don't feel "squishy." Emergency brake functional. No vibrations felt through steering wheel. No strange suspension sounds.

The owner let the car sit all night and started it cold for me when I arrived. Sounded good and no blue or black smoke. Engine is leaking oil from two separate areas. There was a rattling sound when the revs increased. Owner said it may be the alternator bearing.

Service records go back to 2003. Mileage seems to be corroborated by these records.

Beautiful looking refurbished car at a fair price, but it was not for me. If you're interested, definitely get a PPI as I did not get a chance to check the engine and electrical as closely in the time I had.

Looks like a nice car Max and after a PPI and a little negotiation it could be a good buy for someone.

Did the owner mention why he was selling after only owning it for a few months? Also, did you run the carfax by chance? I'm wondering if it hit something with the front bumper replaced.

He said he was selling it to help pay for repairs to his motorhome which suffered water damage.

I did run a CarFax report and it showed no collisions or accidents since new. It was clean.

From a cosmetic point of view, there's not much of anything to do, because all the heavy lifting has been taken care of. I think it is fairly priced based on the current market.

Nice C4 coupe in Miami. Seems fairly priced. I know the owner (older conservative banker with several air cooled P-cars) but I am not intimately familiar with the car.

If it checks out looks like a bargain to the right buyer.
