Never understood what drives people to do these updated bodies. It must be more expensive than just selling the car and buying what they want. Makes no sense.
I agree but for decades people would spend stupid money to convert cars to the latest model look. I think in years to come we may be saying that about all the backdates. He doesn't mention that the car is a converted tip to manual either.
What's the story here? 108k mi GPW RSA, originally offered at $88k, now price dropped to $84k. I see no red flags in the description and lol @ 108k mi on a 23yo car being "high mileage."

I thought these RSAs were being flipped for $150k like two weeks ago...
He's selling it for ~84k here on Rennlist. Its a nice car but its out of my price range. If its over 100k miles, its not a collector car which eliminates a lot of buyers, which is why its not being listed for crazy money. People have been listing RSA's for a lot of cash, but there isn't much evidence of them moving for that price. Now if it was around $70k, I'd consider it.
But it wasn't long ago that folks like christallon were on here saying that his local dealership sold an RSA for six figures and they had a list of folks that were lining up to do the same?
And didn't ilko's 170k mi GPW C2 sell for like $62k in a matter of hours just a couple months ago?
So now the price difference between a clean C2 and a clean RSA is less than $20k?
I don't recall a GPW C2 selling recently, if so I wish I would have jumped on it only if the interior was black. Just like any forum on Rennlist, there are a lot of talkers and tire kickers, but only a small percentage of the population that has the cash and green light from the wife to pull the trigger. I went through this when selling my GT3. You might assume you have pocket Aces when selling a hot car, then you get to play the game of responding to tons of emails with only a few being serious potential buyers.
The difference between a clean C2 and clean RSA is all dependent on a lot of factors. The owner of the RSA has owned the car for only a few months, untitled, etc. sometimes that makes people question the sale compared to a person who has owned the car for years and been active on the forums. When buying cars like this, like Mooty says, you're sold on the buyer, not the car. I'm not saying anything negative about that RSA, but with those types of situations, I see cars sit longer.

If anyone here is a member of the Porsche 964 Club on facebook. A member posted and is testing the waters on a 1990 C4 in Manual. Black on Black, 183k on chassis, Engine was replaced at 50k by Porsche due to head gasket update. Full rebuild/reseal done at 180k with repaint done at same time. The person says it will be priced at 32k.

I'll point out Anthony's earlier observation, the ROW didn't know the RS America wasn't the same as an RS, thus driving prices up to silly levels. They have since come down (or not). When I bought my '94 in 2012, there were RS Americas out there for around $40k, which was pretty much double the cost of a C2 at the same time.

That sounds about right. Good C2 coupes are selling pretty much in less than 24hrs. There are tons of RSA's being offered for sale for stupid money and none are moving. Paying $100k plus for a nice RSA driver is crazy However I can understand collectors buying low mileage, condition #1 cars for top $$$ but thats a whole different story.

If it were a non-sunroof, or even better, no option car, there would be more interest. I don't understand loading an RSA with options. Seems counter to the idea of buying an RSA - but that's just me.
There is also a ROW model called RS touring which has a few more luxuries than RS (no roll cage, sports seats, sunroof .... ) but is selling for crazy money due to very low numbers made.
