I put a deposit on that car today... And it's a crazy story as to how I came about what is a pretty special car to me. I mean, I have history with that exact car from new. Small, small world.

The first Porsche I ever rode in was a '90 C2... GP White with black interior. It was owned by a very good pal of my dad. They were basically brothers.

So, after selling my 997 a few weeks ago I started the hunt for a good 964. By luck, I found the car listed above on the Kansas City Craigslist. I then found the vin and ran a report. I noticed the car was originally purchased in St. Louis. I'm in Texas, but knew that my uncle (my dad and him were that close) bought his car at St. Louis Porsche.

From there, I called my uncle's widow and as luck would have it, she had an old insurance card with the vin listed.

The car listed in Kansas City was the very car I rode in in 1990.

Crazy, right?

Anyway, I put a deposit on the car this morning and will be buying it pending a PPI.

Please put this story on flatsixes or even petrolicious. That's a great tale. In fact it's a whale of a tail (sorry Porsche pun)

I saw the Cobalt Blue 964 on ebay, auto trader and cars.com on Saturday. Two of the three places it was $152,950, I think it was ebay and auto trader. Cars.com had it at $52,950. I called the seller "Frank" he said the car had just sold that afternoon, I asked for how much, he said $52,950. I didn't mention the $152,950 number that I had seen other places.

Would have been happy to get it at $52,950.

Wasn't that mint green car sold to Rob from singer?

From CL; looks like a nice example of a C4 coupe. No affiliation.
