Pay EXTRA attention if you want to buy the last one!
One thing I don't understand is why the car appears to have black undercoating in the rear fenderwells.

Your eyes are not deceiving you, it has black undercoating and if you look closely at the pics you can see the overspray on the adjacent components. What I find strange is that the hood and engine lid don't seem to align properly.

The seller just dropped his price to $50,000 CDN Getting more reasonable and may appeal to a collector.

1990 Porsche 911, $60,000 CAD - JASPER, Alberta, Canada

20,066 miles

"A gem of a find for the Porsche enthusiast! Porsche 911 Carrera 2. Asking $60000 OBO. This car was built to order in Stuttgart Germany in 1989 and driven away in 1990, never seen a North Amercian dealership showroom. Lowered factory suspension. Serviced only by Tao at Norden since arriving in Canada. Seller is original owner and buyers note the KM's, the car is in MINT condition. Only taken out on rare occasions."

-------------------------
$60,000 CAD is about $55,130 USD at today's exchange rate

I would have to agree looks like someone overpaid for this one. I saw a lot of cars like this in Europe back in the 80's grey market being sold as original but had extensive work done. The over spray on the underside is a dead giveaway that this car had extensive paint work with only 9k miles?? I have never seen a factory paint job with over spray like this. My car has 38k miles and is far cleaner and presents better.

My 94 turbo came with black undercoating from the factory. You can see they sprayed it on and it extended beyond the wheel liners prior to assembly. Not sure why they did this but it seems to be common to some of the widebody cars I have seen although it is a thin layer and the color is exposed in some areas possibly due to my concours cleaning habits. Cosmoline was sprayed over the undercoating which seems to be redundant.

These pictures were taken prior to a good cleaning

Widebody Carrera 2? Obviously not a factory widebody, but it would be a cool starting point for a 3.8RS clone.
