Sorry to not pick, but for a 55k car and show winner, I would expect the correct shift ****. I am a stickler for that. I have had to find 2 so far for both my 964. One cashmere and one raspberry grey. Pia. So I guess mine is more original. Ha. Actually it is except for rotors, exhaust.

True but RUF shifter>OEM. This is really sharp looking car but the full repaint is more of a ding on value IMO. Period correct OEM wheels, steering wheel, shifter can easily be obtained.

Agreed... they also need to spell CONCOURS correctly.

This is the one I'd get for that type of money. Fully re-built motor, full respray, and mods I would have done anyway.

Agreed and I can now stop wondering if I should or shouldn't go for it... The listing has been deleted, someone got a great 964.

I just feel like it is lazy to just slap on any old shift ****, even it says Ruf on it. Just go get the right **** that shows somebody cared about the car.

I am sorry to say and I am not trying to insult you; but seriously? You appear to be completely out of touch with the market. the MG turbo 3.6 is not an unrealistic asking price, There are very few pristine sub 10k turbo 3.6's out there and this is the only one for sale currently. They have always commanded a premium of 35-45% over the average car on the market bringing nearly $100k years ago before the market boom. Basic 30k mile plus turbo 3.6's are fetching between $210K and $250k so $375k is high but it is not a private sale either for a collectors dream.

The shift **** says nothing about the car or owner or how well it was maintained and cared for. Original paint doesn't seem to have the same impact as before so long it was not painted due to accident damage.

Not for nothing but complaining about a shift **** is similar to not buying a house because the rooms were painted a color you didn't like.

So long as prices continue to rise it is a sellers market and if you want a pristine example you need to buy the best example and do a little to make it perfect otherwise you will be paying considerably more to people like Goldman that sold a 964 for $110k that needed nothing.

I am not sure where the turbo rant comes from, but ok. Whatever. As far as a shift ****, I feel if somebody is going to claim it as "concours" it should be all original. If they are taking the easy way out to replace a worn leather ****, what other corners were cut, and again kinda lazy. I doubt changing the **** was because it looked better. Just my opinion.

Turbo comes from your post #645

This just blows me away. Market is nuts.

Concours has nothing to do with originality unless it is preservation class parade. Otherwise it is a judgement on cleanliness.

Fit and finish of paint and panels, Rock ships, condition of interior etc.

'91 Turbo - $62K lives down the street from me (I don't know him or the car):

High miles, seems probably fairly priced...
