I wouldn't concern yourself with values these days. If the car is clean and documented it sells. I decided to remove the sunroof from my 93 C2 with 60k miles. If it hurts the value I am not concerned I never plan to sell and if I do it is what it is.
It used to be a modified car like this would never sell. Today people gobble it up. It seems to be more of a sum of the parts these days on anything that isn't low mile pristine original. Although I have to question their pricing. What was actually done for a $44k engine and $28k 993 trans build?

Worth noting, I bought a 993 with an "RS Spec Regeared Transmission" that was actually just a shorter R&P, which does nothing to solve the gear spacing issue in the 993 transmission. Want to take a guess what town I bought that trans from?

Roughly, I'd say if you're sourcing out of Europe, an RS is 2x the price of a similar condition C2 holding everything else equal. If you want a car already in the US, add another 20%.

That black $125k car was built by a Rennlister who was pretty active not very long ago and he sold it. I can't remember his user name, I wonder how much work was done after that.

Confirms gear ratios in there, as well as quite a bit of bad luck. Didn't documentation of the engine build, however.

I have my toe in the market for one....probably will be next car I buy, and I've talked to few European based dealers on cars that seem interesting, and use my basic German language skills to try and follow along on ads.

I just purchased an all original (incl. paint), well documented 20K KM (12.5K miles) GP white 964 RS in Canada. Likely 2.5X the price of a comparable pristine 964 C2.

Interesting read but the numbers just don't add up for the work done.
ended up going with PSS10s. they are being installed right now, with a few other odds and ends that needed replacing/updating. wheels are still waiting on parts to show up.
just for fun i went through the bills so far. engine rebuild was so major, i never really touched on all the work that was done. 23k in parts alone, actually more when you add in the fabspeed header muffler kit, intake and tune package. truly a brand new motor. oh, and the 6 heads i had to buy to replace my worn originals.

Nice build but is it worth the asking?
kkabba Congrats on the purchase.
