Great AMERICAN 964s for sale

Well if someone buys it - I have a set of nice full leather rear seats that will look much better in that coupe than what's currently there
Anyone know what he originally listed it for before bumping up to $50K? Seems totally crazy to me that more than one person offered above ask (vs. the I'll take it).

What is the logic behind offering more than ask but then not buying the car and just encouraging the seller to raise his price and relist?
+1 on the “I’ll take it” argument.

The wording in the ad for the 90 C4 is ambiguous and the pictures tell us very little. That car could need $10-$50k in work or more to bring it up to ones standards vs another's. I would bet it is closer to the $50k for the average buyer I know.

Interesting CarFax. If accurate, single owner, was a daily driver for 7 years or so, then barely driven since then, and basically not at all since 2014.

I am 90% sure I know this car. If it is the same car it didn't look this clean the last time I saw it and has had some cosmetic work done since.

Abreu Motors 964 Backdate to Spec - Miami
Yesterday at Cars and Coffee I had the opportunity to drive a 911 Backdate based off a ‘91 964 C2 built by Abreu Motors. What a Joy!
Abreu Motors has transitioned their business model from being a classic car dealer to backdating 911s to spec. They also have moved their operations to Miami, North Miami to be specific. I visited their shop and showroom and had the opportunity to review their work. It is top notch. Some photos and links below.

That'll only happen when there's no more donor cars left. The 'trend' is far more popular than you think. I prefer stock look with subtle mods, but must admit the driving experience and inside cabin experience in one of these is noteworthy.

The upward market pressure on high mileage cars or cars with stories should slow the trend (which I think JAB12 is implying). Once it is no longer economically practical to resto-mod them, because restoring/maintaining them to original spec is more profitable, then that's what'll happen.
That said, I agree with the sentiment on a personal level. I never make anything other than minor cosmetic mods to my cars, because I want to enjoy them for what they were at the time....if I want something modern, I can always buy the latest and greatest.....BUT, I'm also of the opinion that my views aren't right for anyone other than me, and l'm totally cool with whatever people want to do with their own cars.

I wonder just how many cars have been backdated at this point. It's probably in inflated perspective due to the media covering them, but it feels significant.

Personally I think it will be a long time before the availability of donor cars dries up, especially with the 964 having had a long unloved period of time. We can look at the 356 as a good comparison with Emory still finding basket cases to restore and hot rod.
I also think we are getting closer to the top of the market on the 964 as it settles into a six figure price range for a nice example (not mileage dependent).

Let me give a small list of reasons why this might be a well intentioned backdate, but with really average execution with poor attention to details:
- "911 backdate" script on lid - what is that, a default font from Microsoft Office? Oh, and look at one of the last images and see how crookedly it was applied.
- poor hood fitment
- Michelin Pilot AS4s... so the "sporty" tires I'd get for my Accord at Costco
- "Sport Edition" script on sills? I thought it was the "911 backdate"?
- Gloss black switch panel by shifter when there are no other gloss black pieces in the interior
- wrinkly rear carpet
- carbon fiber mirror caps when there's not much other carbon going on? why?
