I don't know if BaT is they best place to sell one of these. I have been reading the comments and feel most people are not only not very educated about older Porsche Cups, but definitely don't understand their value.
On another note. I go a kick out a comment about Cup cars and damage. It was a car that was raced?? Maybe he should post a couple of Carerra Cup race videos. I think after people watch those, people would realize that there was a little banging going on. That, in itself, should shy anyone away. These car were fixed and raced another day. Since the car were so equal, they had to be fixed 100% or they wouldn't be competitive.
Here is my favorite video from back then.

Funny. you are referring to my comment. I should have punctuated it better. My point was my wife thought it was funny that in the past I was so focused on finding cars that were "mint". And then to see me drooling over a car with previous battle damage seemed oxymoronic to her. Any race car that is mint has no provenance. Having a race car that has already been through the ringer makes you free to continue to drive it hard. No worry of ruining originality any more...

Please don't take what I said personally. I only said that because I can't count the number of times that someone was interested in one my race cars for sale and would complain about the pitting in the windshield or nicks on the from bumper cover.
Glad that they don't have a CarFax for race cars, as they would probably be several pages long, LOL.

No offense taken. The 25yr old me would be laughing at 40 year old me’s purchasing criteria. I used to say a car you can’t hit with a hammer is a car you can’t have fun in. Becoming more discriminating has taken some of the fun out of it.

They definitely pushed 110% out of these cars. It is always enjoyable to watch real racing like that. I am sure Charlie did a nice job restoring it. He has always been very hands on and mechanically inclined. One heck of a great driver as well. I agree the market for these is quite narrow and I expect finding the right home for this will take time. Maybe a good way to get the word out it is for sale but possibly RNM on BaT.

I am not making a negative comment on the car, just asking......Wasn't there a time in the past that the '89 C4 was considered the step child of the 964 family? Boy has that changed over the years.

I SUPER, highly recommend any car Nathan has for sale. I'm absolutely bias though, he once sold my car
As you can see, he does a tremendous job describing the cars too. Read to the end, he's a life long Porsche enthusiast, and fully understands the situation (as we all do).
Given what crap is out there in the 60's (which most of us would be very happy with as a start), this doesn't start to look to bad to certain buyers...
There's a famous RL member who has often said, a truly "no issue" 964 costs $100K.
