Do Japanese delivery cars have the option sticker under the hood?

The earlier '91s had the round catch. My September '90 build does, for instance.

AFAIK no. That is the problem with ROW cars there are several things we can judge a US spec car for, especially the 89 and 94's without those it makes it harder to be definitive about these imports.

I’m totally one of those guys LOL.
Thing is, I don’t ‘care’ its just interesting to find and see and spot the differences in these cars.

Wait aren’t you a regular over there

I like finding irregularities that may not be obvious to most but I don’t have an issue with modifications as long as someone isn’t intentionally trying to pass it off as stock.

Who me??? LOL I spend a lot of time with restorations, it has become a bit of a subcategory to the hobby for me. I only started doing this since BaT came about and so many people are trying to pass off damaged goods as original.

Not what I meant at all, I enjoy the input here and am always amazed at what Anthony and others notice that I missed. BAT is the internet personified; so many "experts" who know very little about that which they prognosticate on. Lots of cars dressed for a sale, the dress attempting to hide shortcomings. No problem with those who really know, pointing this out.

My attempt at humor was also aimed at me; as I get older I see I am becoming more "earlyS" ish, more correct and less forgiving of flagrant defects.

At least we aren't as bad as the 356 crowd!!

I found out the Japanese rear carpets are different as well as the rear seats which we already knew.

Hell yeah, I've been looking for an early 964 C4S for a very long time!

Seriously though, RMC are huge scumbags and I can say that from personal experience.

What I don't get is how they get them. Most of those cars you never see in this forum. And they sell them. so its like the cars offered never see this forum before they end up in Miami and the buyers of said cars never see this forum either as they still buy them. $199 for that blue 965 is just absolutely bonkers! But what do I know. I've only paid fair market for all 4 of my aircooled. Guess I should become a dealer and quit my day job.

Similar to LuxSport, they use bots that search the internet for these cars and they scoop up a ton of cars on Craigslist. A car popped up last year on my local CL for sale. It was literally 15 minutes from my doorstep, a 97 C2S with 75K miles. It was posted around 11PM on a weeknight and I called the owner first thing the next morning around 7:30AM. The owner said I was the second caller, the first guy apparently called him at midnight and was a “collector” from Miami.

Basically the seller was a "rough around the edges" guy who wasn’t internet savy, he had to have a friend post the CL ad for him. The “Collector” aka RMC tricked the guy into accepting a deposit. I was second in line for the car so I was in steady contact with the seller for a week. It was a whole saga with RMC lying to the seller. After failing to make the payment when they said they would, they faked a 3-way call with the seller pretending to be FedEx saying “we lost the check”… it was a crazy ordeal.

Anyways, the “collector” ended up finally sending a check for the car after about a week and surely enough within another week, the car popped up on RMC for sale… see their Instagram post from 3/2/18.

When I first found the car for sale on CL it was $55K and one of my friends called RMC to see what they wanted for it. Their sales guy said “well, one of these just sold on BaT for $112K, what’s your offer?”.

And yes, I'm bitter about this.

I'm also bitter with you Dtronics. When I was recently searching for a car, I was going through the same thing with dealers. Or every private sale car was instantly worth +60K, and I knew I would be the lucky new owner that would need to pump in 10k to get the car back up to a good standard. I started looking at 997s... Hate all this for the true enthusiast.
