Flag 2 it's underpriced.

Flag 3 it's Mint Green RS. If it was a good car it would be long gone.

Lots of Wrecked, rebuilt, re tubbed junk across the pond.

Is this because they are brokered and that simply shows the broker fee? or something else?

Anthony,
You say you would expect this to sell for more considering miles + color. it seems to be priced a little over average for cars with 40,000mi, doesn't it? Are you saying the color is worth way more than I was expecting? Or do you think that $40k no stories cars are worth more than $200k US? I ask because I respect your opinion, not that that I question you.

If there is a story behind this car that someone knows, I'd really appreciate knowing it...

Matt
Any decent RS is well over $200k. Add mint ruby stone or Merritime and the price goes up quickly.

Every good low mile example I have seen have sold for $300k-$500k.

65k mile guards red $173k
43k guards red $289k
39K mile very rare mint green $216k
21k mile guards red $358K
15k mile yellow $358k
8k mile grand prix white $347k
8k mile grand prix white $370k
2k mile black $370k

Asking price doesn't mean sale price but based on the others for sale? Irrespective of the miles I would expect the mint green to be priced higher or sell quickly. Draw your own conclusions. usually rare colors can command a premium. I would have put it closer to $300k unless there are issues.

Late to respond but what he said ^^ lol

So this is the reason you are posting "Buyer Beware" ? with all due respect but $200,000 is a lot of money for that car with the miles, and that is probably why it has not sold, not the opposite. Posting "Buyer Beware" usually means you know something solid thats bad about a car.

But again you maybe right, and i agree, cars across the pond could have an unknown history.

I used to think that you could get on line see a few pics talk to the seller get a ppi buy a car and all is well......Until I almost bought a car that was represented as an RS but wasn't.

It took me a trip to Europe with my Mechanic to realize just how FD up most of these cars are. We looked at over 15 so called wonderful cars. We found 2 that we're as described and I bought them both. This was 10 years ago when the 964 RS was $80k and the 993 RS was $180k. Fast forward to today's values.....More motivation to put lipstick on a pig.

$200k will never buy you a no stories RS coming out of Europe period. Especially in a rare color. Don't believe me take a couple weeks out of your life and go check it out for yourself.

some may not remember you. but Joe has had some insane RS's.
and he is right. you cannot buy a burnt to the ground head-on to the wall 964RS for $200k
if you find one at $350k consider yourself lucky.
the two I have seen which I wanted are $400+
but I did convince my friends to buy them. they can't drive stick. so I drive it for them. what are friends for anyways.

Very reminiscent of the 80's Grey market. in 84 you could buy just about any car and not get burned by 85 just about everything was some cobbled together over priced piece of junk.

the car isn't an original mint green car. 3 owner car where all owners are known and supposedly everything documented. But it was originally a dark blue car.

Now it makes sense. Probably has been smacked a couple of times and seen the track more than the streets.

I saw this first hand as a kid in the 84 when my dad bought a grey market Mercedes. The importer had a plethora of Porsche’s, Mercedes and Audi’s on hand and if they were anything like my dad’s MB they had some odd story on how the guy acquired them. Needless to say some serious due diligence is needed with any overseas import. That applies to cars that are already here or being imported.

I bought an 84 3.2 Euro in 84, guys at Redline (the original) said it was the sweetest 3.2 they serviced. Drove a friends late 85 greycar; hard to think it was even a Porsche.
