your right, it’s not. But, yours is probably a hoot to drive with that gearbox. Who knows, it just takes the right buyer. In regards to that midnight blue car,
I would much rather have a properly sorted early 964 for half the price. The sellers asking premiums for late model 964’s are out of their mind. The early cars that are in good shape are identical and very undervalued at the moment.

For starters they only imported 470 US spec 1993 MY 964 coupes both C2 & C4 both tip and 5 speed. Finding a clean 94 is next to impossible due to so few made. The later cars seem to bring a premium when clean and low miles. The midnight blue is a common color but desirable and I have only seen a few with deviating carpeting like this. My friends 94 turbo had this same combo and it made the car IMO. The wheels are ugly very 80's but easily replaceable. $70k or close to that for this car is not going to happen but the price I agree should include proper Cup I's or original wheels and less miles than this has.

If these start falling in price we will have a lot more to worry about other than the value of these cars. As the 993's seem to be dropping in price I still see people looking for clean 964's willing to pay up for anything that doesn't have high miles and accident damage as many seem to.

Here's a chart from http://www.964uk.com/Documents/964%2...%20Numbers.pdf

Total Coupes including C2/C4/manual/Tip-
1989-1991- 23995 units
1992-1994- 9988 units

Would be nice if someone had the breakdown of C2/C4/manual/Tip

nice car and a decent price given the miles. Wonder how much power that 3.8 is putting down?

I spoke to the owner on the phone for a bit. Nice guy - enthusiast. Hasn't owned the car for very long. Didn't have any real documentation on the engine build (company is out of business as well).. but stated that he had a top end reseal done because he wanted to document that it was actually a 3.8. He said that his mechanic confirmed that it was - but he didn't know what brand parts were used for the build. I scare off easily, so I backed off at that point.

I think I saw this same car at a dealer a month or two back in the 40s? Cant find the link now. I rather like it...wheels are subjective but the overall car is looking nice. Minus the tip.

I wonder what the indicators are that 993s are going down in price. Is it the narrow bodies? I beg to differ on that as although I have not been on the market for 6 months, I keep my eyes close to it. What dealers are asking for manual WB 993s regardless if 2S or 4S is just ludicrous. Tips are commanding just $10-$15k under MT. Again just crazy. Latest experience being G.E.A.R.S. asking $147K for a 20k mile 3xBlack '97 4S. decently optioned but no hardbacks or extra options that would justify that price. This being said. 964s are more on the rise based on recent high mileage offerings actually selling upper $80s+.

Somewhat related: If anyone has a lead or has an offering of a 964 Targa (not red) please send me a PM. MT preferred but if Tip will consider it as well based on clean condition. This is my next search project, shyly looking into it. Thank you RL
