2 US Carerra Cups
2 993 SuperCups
92 911Turbo S2 "IMSA Supercar Series"
94 3.6 965
97' 993tt
Rothman's Turbo Cup 951
3 993 Cabs.

All sold too early, and all together, one nice retirement plan $$$.
Holly cow, what a list of former cars. You have good taste.

Two things come to mind: at least you had those experiences with those amazing cars, and if you had those in the past, what's in your garage now? Must still have some good stuff!

Thanks, I did have some great experiences and was very fortunate. Alwin Springer told me one time, that "Porsche only lets you borrow their cars, enjoy them while you are in their possession". An interesting way to look at it. The car in your avatar is gorgeous, I love Cobalt.

I forgot to put, I also had a 964 European Carrera Cup. I raced it in the inaugural Rennsport Reunion at Daytona. After I sold it, I got a call from the team that originally owned in Europe. They wanted it back. They told me it had won the Carrera Cup Championship when they raced it and were willing to pay big money to get it back. Once again, if i knew that, I wouldn't have sold it so cheap.

The internet these day is a great source of background information, and provides a way to get the history. It wasn't as good back then.

At this time I have nothing that exciting, just a Cayenne Turbo, Panamera S and Caymen, (and a 2010 Boxster for sale in the classifieds) but I am looking for something unusual and fun. That's why I am on this thread. There were many rare and unusual 964s, unfortunately, a lot of them stayed in Europe, or if they made their way to the US, like these 964 RSs that are popping up, they are quite expensive.

It's not just you. I do not like those rims AT ALL. I do not like them they seem small. I do not like them even in Amsterdam, I do not like them Sam I am.

Rare car but it would need to be 100% original and fully documented if they want to get anywhere near that number. Those rims are horrible btw.

This should be priced in the mid $70s at best. No mention of original head unit, original wheels and ride height is modified aside from those crazy wheels. A $100K C2 needs to be damn near perfect with verifiable service history performed. I'll pair this one against my C4 any day. Bet you a beer get atleast about $25K more on the auction block. But the 'Ol Lady is not seeing a bill of sale anytime soon. Crazy prices out there.

I've always wanted to add a second 964 and I passed up on several examples, only to wish I had an ounce of brain at the time and purchased them. I kept telling myself the same thing you mentioned that prices might cool off in the fall/winter, only to watch them go up and up again. Now, I have concluded that owning another 964 will not happen. As much as I love them, the prices are too high for me to justify purchasing one when the money could be better used somewhere else. Anyway, if you really want a 964, keep looking and jump on the first one that checks most of your boxes. Prices are sky high and I don't see them coming down unless there is a major economic recession to bring everyone back down to earth.

I agree that short of a recession the prices will continue up although maybe not as rapidly as they have over the past 18 months.

Having said that, a recession is inevitable and the next one is likely 2 years away.

I’m glad I was able to jump in when I did, I paid a good chunk for mine but I do believe I’m still in the green even after the major expenditures to get it mechanically perfect.

I think the Dealer is just seeing if they can get the over $100k mark on a Clean looking C2. I passed on a C2 Black/Tan Interior, Super Clean Car with 39k on the odo at $75k over the Winter...which was cleaner than this Midnight Blue. But yea....those Wheels on the Blue Car are terrible...
