decent 964 coupes (for sale) are basically non-existent in Canada.
i will keep you informed re: number of offers of sale at "dead weight" pricing.

anyone have a decent 91 or 92 high mileage C2 manual? coupe only. it's gotta be at a dead weight price. no rust, prefer original paint. no black cars.
best to sell before they hit rock bottom, yes?
please pm me with details.
If there were decent higher mile 964's for sale I think you will find they bring more than you think. It is a market flooded with junk. Looked at a car the other day that the owner had for 10 years claims it is original.

It had a late model front end grafted to a 90 shell. Not a great job either. This is all I have been seeing lately.

I am inclined to agree with Cobalt. Any of these higher miles 964's that are nice clean straight no stories cars are going for high prices. The stories cars which are suspect, are languishing at prices in the $40's or some a bit lower. Some have been on the markets for months.

aren't we living in the new Trump era?...excusemoi if I wasn't politically correct...I guess a word like "softening" or "correcting" would be more appropriate?

is it just me, or are there no beat up 964's available? i keep seeing cars in the $39k+ range and the occasional $30k deal, but never like a $12-15k car that obviously needs a lot of work. i want to do a tastefully modded 964, but i don't want the guilt of modding a nice, original car.

The days of cheap 964s are long gone and those $39K ones you mention are your beat up 964s with questionable history.

Completely stripped rollers with a straight and true tub limited rust but needs everything seem to be brining $15k +/- depending on what is needed. the coupes in the $30k range all seem to be junk and not worth buying period. The slightly more expense cars in the $39k+ range are a good start if your willing to dump money into fixing the problems and a clean well sorted car if you can find one is either in the stratosphere or sells privately by word of mouth and never hits the open market.

Sadly the day when i paid $10k for complete 90 C4 needing paint and engine work are a thing of the past. I have been looking for a donor to build a street version of my track car and would consider selling my C2 if I could find one but I haven't seen anything in over 2 years worth spending money on that fits my needs. What I do see is overpriced and even willing to pay the extra they sell before I can make the move.

No doubt deals can be found but they sell in a blink.

i suppose (like a lot of things) one would have to be 100% ready to commit to the opportunity and almost buy blindly. it wouldn't be my daily driver, so i can have it apart for periods of time while i tinker with it. i just gotta be prepared i guess.

It was GPW on Black, mileage was sub 100K IIRC, asking was $32,500.

So true.

Every time I bring my car in for service or I bring my car to a PCA event I am approached with the "if you ever decide to sell your car" comments.

I know most of them are not serious but I have received legit offers from a couple of guys that I know can write the cheque and have lots of cars in their collections.

If I ever decide to sell I know I would call them first.

This will sound strange but while we all want to most $$$$ for our cars I also would like to know that my car is going to someone that will appreciate and take good care of it.
