There has been a clean 3.3 turbo black on black in the FS section for quite sometime at $90K

It's still sitting there unsold after a month, which should say something about the price.

Here is a 91 black/black C4 with 102k miles if anyone is interested. Price seems reasonable. The ad really doesn't say much else, so you will need to call. I passed because really want a C2.

And, GR picked it up from eBay just a few days prior; don't know what they paid original seller?
Considering US spec C2/C4's coupe production numbers including tips
MY 92 US 655
MY 93 US 460
MY 94 US 396

Essentially these are all the same. Unless it has super low mileage or rare color combo (paint to sample one off) There is no reason a 94 should command any more or less than a 92 or 93. Although last vin number might see some interest from a collector perspective.

The majority of the coupes are 89-91 MY cars for US. Cabs and Targa numbers are far less. Yet they don't seem to command as much interest but I am sure that will change.

I believe as time goes on we will see the market between the 89-91 and 92-94's as a hole split in value. Very much like the early vin 93 and late vin 93 928GTS's see 20% less than the 94 & 95 928GTS's these are essentially the same cars. Only 411 made for the US and only 170 5 speeds so very rare from a collectors perspective. Yet the 94's and 95's will command considerably more for an identical car. Although right now I don't see this happening to the same extent.

He started off at $97,500 which is way rich for a 3.3 from a private seller still. There have been a number sold in the mid $70's recently and only Canepa/RPM/Sloan and other known dealers are getting 6 figures for special cars sold to specific buyers that don't want hassles or resprays. This car has higher miles and a complete respray. I think he is a bit premature although I think he should be asking closer to mid 70's for a quick sale considering history not condition.

He is also very optimistic on HP numbers.

That is RPM and he has the best of the best. Nobody knows the market better and with only 14k original miles it is a collectors dream car. I am sure he will get close to that number. However that doesn't mean a 40k mile similar car will come close to the same price.

Thanks for the clarification.

The thing is that anyone with a low miles example will think its worth the same price.

Actually low miles will rule even if condition is lacking so long as there is no accident damage.

I helped a friend over a year ago buy an 89 3.2L cab black/black with 19k miles for $19k. It was rough but a few grand and a good detail job the car sold for upper $40's. That car today would be closer to $60k now. It sold in days sight unseen on mileage alone. So if you have a clean original less than 15k mile car you should be able to ask crazy money and eventually find a buyer.

I've noticed the same thing with autotempest. I searched CL from autotempest last night around 11PM EST so that car should have shown up on my list, but it did not. Pretty hard to jump on something to buy it if you can't see it in time.

So in the last month all 1990 c2 have $38-39k asking prices (there is a black 72k miles for sale at $38k on autotrader). Prices are through the roof!

Looks like a great buy ^

It is mind blowing that the 964 c2 manual coupes are closing in on 40k. Supply must be very limited.

Kicking myself for passing on a 90 C2 manual coupe baltic blue/blue sport seats for $15k in Nov 2013. Needed it lots of work but now it seems like a deal.

the 1990-1991 are closing on $40k, meaning the 1992-1994 will soon be even more.
