The seller began posting on the BaT thread, many 'suggestions' that he knew about the salvage title but was promoting the car as clean title. Seller got 'testy', end of thread.

Bad for the site and sellers/buyers in general. Mods should've been on it faster/tighter.

I don't know the whole situation but I spoke to the seller. Supposedly the car had a clean auto check when he bought it but then Carfax showed an accident/ write off. It seemed to me like there was a rebuild after the accident meaning that someone decided to invest in the car and drive another 20,000 miles, so perhaps it wasn't that bad. If you're in that area and want a C4 it might be worth taking a look. Seller was amenable to bring it to a shop for a PPI. It was listed on BAT as a C2, which was wrong. 37,500 is all the money for a wrecked C4....or is it?lollol

That all sounds innocent enough, but the issue was that when he relisted the car for sale, he advertised it as clean title, even after being informed that it was salvage. In fact the Pelican add is still up, while noting that the car is "unavailable at this time" (note that he didn't delete the ad, so potential buyers could still contact him) - but still described as having a clear title.

I would find issue with that he is quoting the car as all original if he knows that it had a salvage title and rebuilt, thus not all original...besides that tail doesn't look original on a 90 C4

Hmmm- could clear title mean that it is free of liens and ready to be transferred? I agree that he should have probably worded the ad better...but he has removed it. He seems like a decent guy from my brief conversation with him. Is there a history with this person (Aaron) that I am unaware of? I mean if this was luxsport I would take it to be intentional.

Speaking of clear titles despite a prior accident this C2 Coupé seemed like a great price. It was advertised as having previously been in a front end accident though. The one weird thing I noticed was that the Carrera 2 badge on the trunk seemed way too low and when I asked the seller about it he was very rude. Make of this what you will but buyer be wary as always.

koKo there is a lengthy thread on Pelican about that seller. Not a real favorable one either. I would bet that cars been wacked in the behind too just looking at it.

The black 90 C4 above was up for auction on Bring A Trailer.... The site pulled the auction when the crowd found out the car has a salvage title. The seller tried to dance around it for a while and then gave up. He had recently purchased it off of eBay.

Typical shady classic car dealer taking advantage of the air cooled trend. Remember there's a sucker for every seat!

I'd be more worried about the '20 other Porsche in the warehouse' that apparently might have the seller touch them.

Look at the steering wheel. That's all you need to know right there.
