I spoke to the owner of the dealer. The dealer bought it back in 2010, sold it locally in Chicago, then the guy traded it in last week, and here it is for sale. The title is clear but it does have a stolen report on it and a damage report, I guess a PPI could clear things up. I might have Eurosport in Chicago take a look at it.
Hitting a person, isn't this a 911 not a Mustang?!?!
I wonder why your Autocheck didn't report it being stolen, I really hate that Carfax sometimes has BS accusations. I wonder what the Fleet/Lease Auction is all about back in 2010, does that simply mean it was sold at a standard auto action?
Overall the vehicle history check doesn't seem bad for a car that's 26 years old.
Considering selling my 89/90 C4 Blk/Blk Manual Coupe. Has almost all Rennline accessories, Bilstein B6/H&R, BBS E88 and RSA spoiler. Spare spoiler, C4 front diff and recently updated the head and tail lights.
What do you think my 188k driver with full records and window sticker 964 is worth? PS PO changed the oil on a monthly bases and it would only have 1k miles at almost every change.
To add a 4" binder full of receipts from the past year of repairs & mods.
how long have i been asleep?, seems to me your car is worth easy 10k more than 'high 20's', unless she's beat up and doesn't seem so from what you've said here,
just went to 'techno classico' in essen germany couple weeks ago and you'd have had a line around the block @ 'high 20's' price...nothing 964-ish under €45k... those 2 above seem to me to be under priced as well, may have to get the hammer out for the piggy bank here...anyway, i'd do a bit more research before ...
I think Rudy ("Opo") purchased a car through this dealer a short time ago. Might try messaging him to see what his thoughts are on the process.

Here is how is process works in his words:
Most of the time I bid on my client behalf. We need $2000USD deposit to start checking on cars and bid. If we won the auction, full payment need to collect within 5 business days after we won. If we lose, we only $100 for checkup fees and rest of the deposit are refundable. We do buy cars to sell as well. For Porsche currently we have 964C2 (incoming), 993Turbo (incoming), 67 912 coupe, 88 Carrera 3.2 coupe, 964RS and 993RS available. We also have some Classic Mercedes as well. Please like my Facebook page and get updates every week.

he didn't say "top end rebuild" - he said it was resealed. which effectively, from a performance and maintenance standpoint, means nothing. it may have been as simple as a weeping gasket....
not downing the post - looks like a fantastic price (judging by the response on fb that price will change) - but don't be silly and just buy expecting to get a perfect 20k motor when someone says "reseal". its still a gamble and one should still if possible, have the car leaked down prior to buying unless a real 15k top end rebuild is ok given the sale price...
