Very nice Rob. Well done for taking the plunge.
There a few of the IB guys doing a quick dyno run tomorrow morning reasonably close to you:
http://www.evolveautomotive.com/rolling-road-dyno.php
There's only about 8 of them so happy to hook you up if you have a spare couple of hours to get your baseline / before and after numbers.

dumb question maybe but if i google the injectors you got they turn out to be dual spray wide cone(split cone) which are meant for 4valve heads that have a bridge inbetween the two intake valves.
Shouldn't our 2v head use singel cone spray in order not to wetten the intake walls?

nice Rob ... I have the same 440cc injectors but mine are green ... cant wait to fit them.
(seems yours slightly different per this analysis .. injector flow rates - search by partial p/n)

I'll try and find a datasheet for them. We'll need to know the spray angles and distance between tip of injector and back of the valve to decide if there is the potential for an issue.

If it's the green giants then they are also split cone

I'm looking for injectors for a similar project, looking through the tables I can use VW golf G60 injectors and Audi S4 (AAN)&S2

Yeah it could be them 'big green' or 'green giants'.
As you say, from the data I've found the pattens and angles are identical to the injectors I have. Do the injectors you've identified have a bosch part no? Attempting to identifying parts by vehicle is a non-starter.

you can use the excel sheet and sort the injectors by angle etc
These are some injectors i have lying around
Type
C=singel spray
E= dual spray
A=disc/ pintle (OEM old school)
So if stock spray 21degrees, I have 19,25 and 27 to choose from

Awesome - found the patten data in the xls here
Just need the p/n from hi-wind now to assist with the comparison

I've based my choice on a very similar 3.8 964 hot cam itb race engine which has achieved great results with my Dicktator fuel mgmt system (not motec,I know)
... So while I'll likely lose fuel efficiency, I think seat o pants results shd be good

So on Tuesday evening I dropped the ECU into the car and got things plumbed in. Cranked the engine and the darn thing started first turn of the key The idle was high at around 1200 rpm but I thought I'd just watch the wideband until things got warm before going off and adjusting anything.
3-4 mins later, I gently opened the throttle but the engine would stall out immediately if you opened it with any kind of pace. A quick conversation with Specialist Components the next day revealed I'd plumbed the MAP vac line down stream of the one-way-valve that sits on the plenum. So lastnight I moved it to the correct position (up stream) and tried again. Sorted - We now have throttle control again.
The idle was still high and on checking the idle control map vs temp it was clear why. The usual 900rpm idle speed wouldn't be achieved until after 70degrees. Before then, the target was much higher.
The engine had always happily idled at 900rpm regardless of temp so I pulled the targets down much lower. Starts and idles just like it did with the motronic now.
I then took it for a gently drive around the block. Nothing conclusive can be drawn from that yet since I was pootling along in 2nd on light throttle. It was then I noticed that the rev counter wasn't working. I'd been ignoring the dash and staring at the laptop screen until now. Connectivity checked out fine but I recon this is a config issue as some of the settings relating to the tacho looked suspect. I'm sure the guys will ping me back with the answer this morning.
The softwares' a little quirky (isn't all software thats designed by engineers?) but its ok. Just like all the other varieties you have to learn/remember where everything is. There are a few things I spotted right away that I'll pass on to them. I bet they designed and ran this software on regular dimensioned monitors. Laptop screens have a different aspect ratio and as a result some screens don't render cleanly. Nothing a few extra scrollbars can't sort out.
So there we are - At first base with very little drama
I'll toy with it for 2-3 weeks and then get it onto a RR for a mapping session. I'll probably take the car upto Specialist Components and use theirs.
