glad the disco ball didn't get cut out the pics
No Konstantin, its got lots of purchase for the glue - test bits have held nicely
but going to do a 2.5 mm (3kg) heavy rubber layer to main fire wall and back seats just to be sure
then the closed cell foam stuck and carpets ... waiting for the Carrera 3.8 on the rear main piece
I'm also in two minds about re-using the parcel shelf/speaker mounts etc... bit heavy
but nicely made ... and I'm not averse to blasting some Buddy Guy/Jerry/Bob once in a while
weighed all the old foam and bits and glue and carpets inc the foot wheel & wheel arch bits
-- 23kg for foam and glue
-- 11 kg for the moulded bits and rest inc seat belts and glued in seat bottoms
-- still need to weigh the back seats (backs) and rear parcel shelf with speakers (but might keep that in)
Also took the plunge and removed the consol .. anyone got some pointers/warnings on how to wire the
3 rocker switches and spoiler **** (will be converted to rocker switch ala 993) to the dash?
Might move radio to inside cubby and place them in the a blank off panel or
do the AP (I think) version using the space where the ashtray is ... other idea welcome!
Lastly tried a test fit of the RENNLINE pedal backing board ... clutch pedal was fouling a bit ...
seems like it expects the clutch 'arm' to be bent differently from how it is and to be closer to the brake pedal arm.
It's definitely a RHD piece, just slightly different from my setup it seems - is the clutch pedal arm adjustable?
or
Did the MY91 or 92+ change the clutch arm shape on the RHD?
I think Frank mentioned the dead pedal/foot rest moved and the RennLine piece
does have that on the far left now (??)
and not in-between clutch & brake as is the case with my foot rest (plastic bit stapled to pedal board)
Anyways ... progress this weekend mostly consisted of tidying up the garages and tools and getting psyched
for the final push re carpets and door panels finally in NOT linen.
Slippery slope showed up
in the form of consol delete ... but i was already about 3748m down so no biggy
remember the key to the slippery slope is to face down the fall-line and don't lean back!

ok after a break for family and fatherhood ... got the progress fever back
carpets 99% - consol gone - buttons to be repos into radio blank - rennline foot board in (after removing the foot rest which wont work pre 91 cars)
so much happier with the black vs linen!
RS pulls & door kit & Tore remotes arrived too ... just deciding on design and alcantara or nappa (like shift boot and handbrake)
panel detail and pockets (blue stichcing there will be)

thanks G .... the last 6 months have been much busier as the little one moved from external foetus to little person
... I've also transformed ... from a nose-averting observer browsing RL into
a nappy-changing-bath-running-food-inputing-pouch-carrying-strap-everything-down-everywhere expert now
Maybe the wife'll come step on the the brake pedal and help bleed the brakes once in a while!
Here we are making the dogs their breakfast!

could use some help choosing here:
- rennline have as usual a classy, stylish approach - for 993 style switches
- the other option from the awesome backdate thread retains the original round spolier switch
(not with the CF or the Alcantara tho)

Rennline. I like that the buttons are all similar size and shape.
Love the picture of your little one. So small and cute. Can't wait to see pics of him in the 964!

Three Wheelin'
Welcome back - LOL such a cute picture
>(not with the CF or the Alcantara tho)
Using the CF would be far simpler to accurately shape the switch cutouts as its stiff enough to be use a very thin piece of sheet. Without using a machine, I think it would be a very difficult to get a clean cut and sharp edges in plastic. If you don't want the carbon finish then flatten the surface and spray it. Take a look at this page here if you want some ideas.

Thanks guys ... More pics later of the little one soon for sure ...
Wife says the exhaust is too loud, she seems quite happy w the rumble in the back seat in the car seat
Rob thanks for that - I'm exactly there right now - not easy to cut the blank as you say ... Might try Ali ... Been searching for those pics for an hour solid - thanks again!
Don't think I want to lose the funny old round spoiler switch after all ... Go figure
