Always handy when you have steel plate laying about......nice work robt964

Just seen a whole rear bar up for grabs on ebay if you're interested in sourcing as replacement. It doesn't look too bad.

I seen that one Robt waiting on the guy sending me some pics to see the condition of the brackets.

You would hardlt believe these two brackets came off the same car the good one (Drivers side) was covered in oil which obviously protected it so oil leaks not all bad !.

Prepped the front bumper for fitting the brake ducts all pretty straightforward and happy with the fit.

Also looking to get new j-u nuts for putting everything back does anybody know the most common sizes of these No 8 , 10 ? decent selection on ebay here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2008840104...84.m1423.l2649 unless any one has a decent source.

Got round to popping the windscreen out (without breaking it) the scuttle/screen is in good condition rust wise other than the two lower corners not sure if this can be pieced in rather than the scuttle repair panels ?

but your rust looks a tad worse then what I had

No worries the dash top will be pulled before any work is done, did you end up putting the repair panel in ?

Gary that looks nasty! I have a little blister just starting near there which having seen yours I will be addressing sooner rather than later.

Hope you are going to get it all sorted this year so we can come up to Bonnie Scotland for a run out and meet up with you.

G I have not even addressed the 964 been too busy however will upload some pics when I get the time.
The car is stripped rear front bumpers removed and stripped down to the just the plastic all the screws bagged and labelled so on reassembly I do not have too much issues. The aero mirrors door handles side skirts rear and front lights all out along with the convertible hood complete with frame removed, also pulled the rear spoiler now deciding when I respray car do I leave the deck lid attached or spray it off the car and the same goes for the bonnet do I remove bonnet for paint or paint on car ? I always think the more parts I remove the more chance of things getting scratched upon refitting. I have not even welded in the repair panel yet. My body shop wants to weld new panel in I personally would have been okay with a bit of metal welded in and filler on top.

So got round to popping the rear quarter windows out with not to much trouble all looking fine other than some very minor surface bubbling on the pass side which will rub up no problems . Also pulled an old tracking system that was hidden in the dash which I have no paperwork for more weight removed heavy little battery on that tracker Bodywork/painter is coming to have a look at the car tomorow

That is a daylight running lights upgrade so the tail lights work at the same time.

I saw it on the intranet today! ;O)

Had my grey C4 with Daytona Coachworx near Stevenage. Was going to be a soda blasting job until they found too many paint layers and too much needed doing! Pics below. A 9-month bare metal resto. They were sooo meticulous and I really recommend them.

All gone now though - 4 days after picking it up to take down to Le Mans - south of Rouen and into a concrete wall on a bend! - Write off. Still getting over the depression. A journalist who featured my replacement in a magazine recently gave some consolation - "it's the way Ferdinand wouldn't have minded so much - driven hard to the end!"
