Loving the red centers. Yes, slightly lower in the rear w/ a touch of negative camber.

Nice fresh look, hope to see you out and about. Is that front ride height with the FVD collars fitted?

Edit - You have to get some red tint film on those tailights.. And a Carrera 2 badge, I always think the engine cover looks a bit empty with no badge, and there's some kudos in that '2' these days!

Jonny,

that is the collars fitted at their highest setting and low enough for me, I have a tint kit for the lights but not sure about fitting it,looks a bit "pinky" rather than red and haven`t made my mind up on refitting the badge.

Perfect, that height will do me fine too, gald we got there in the end.

Re the tint I just used a red tint film from Hong Kong and it looked a bit pink off the car, but the end result is definitely red when fitted - quite a deep red actually. Looks different to stock (more 'jelly' like, if you see what I mean) - but wouldnt look modified to the casual observer..

So done very little fettling over the summer just been using it which has been good, however its now sorned for the time being so whipped the wheels off today to give everything a once over and also going down the well trodden route of whipping out the alternator and manifolds for painting (not going red)
also replacing the heater blower with carbon bypass, It will get a full service valve adjustment replace seals etc while were in their so thats the plan for the winter.

anyone know what the small additional bracket at the throttle is for ?

Default Bracket?

That is the hold down bracket for the A/C lines as they cross diagonally across the engine.

So finally managed to get back to the car today and got the manifolds stripped out which were a bit of a pain mostly due to the jubillee clips being in the wrong position however got there in the end , now I had a bit of an overfill at one point so not surprised a bit of oil through most bits of the manifolds, AFM etc so will strip the whole lot out and give everything a good clean, it all looks tickety down below at the valves ( I think ).

I am now thinking I might as well take the fuel rails off and get the injectors cleaned and checked while I`m at it, most of these bits will also get sent to the platers.

anything else to check out while i`m in here ?

I dropped the fan, housing and valve covers off at the vapour blasters which is a wet blast with glass beads however blasters says its cleaning but a bit slow fan has a bit of pitting but no cracks found yet powder coating will fill the pits, the vapour blast wont lift the paint on the valve covers with the undercoat being pretty hard by all accounts so will get some stripper onto them to loosen up , fairly ingrained crud after 24 years.

Awesome progress. You going to replace the tattered engine sound pad? Perfect time to do so and inexpensive.

Right picked up various bits from the vapour blasters, couldnt clean the paint from the lower valve covers was too hard so had to resort to paint stripper, made a good job of the fan and housing do fan, housing, manifolds and valve covers of to the powder coaters tomorrow the strap that retains the alternator will not budge so will get rubbed down and a coat of satin black.
