I am gutted I cannot join you but hope you have a fantastic trip, I will definitely be up for next year.

I agree with Oldtimer regarding tuition - it is such a big, fast track that you can find yourself a bit lost at times so it is good to get a few laps with an instructor someone who knows the circuit well to help get you comfortable.

Bookatrack days at Spa normally have some extremely tasty machinery on track (this time last year there was an F40 LM racecar, an incredible 250 SWB racecar, a number of Ferrari challenge cars, Carrera GT and countless others) which means spectating can be almost as much fun as driving. The restaurant on the top floor above the pits should be open and you get fantastic views of the chicane through to halfway up the Kemmel straight, the food is pretty good too.

One word of warning for those who haven't been before - prepare yourself for the post-Spa trip comedown - every UK circuit is a very poor substitute afterwards!

Picking my car up from Project Nine about lunch time after a checkover, so should be all ready to go

Hopefully get a chance to wash it this afternoon so it looks reasonably presentable

Looking forward to a great weekend

Yep that looks like the place. I went with Moris too for the insurance. Cost me a bit more at £225 for the two days (£17K value and £2.5K excess) but still seems pretty good value compared to some.

I'm setting off soon as I'll be staying with Ian tonight (he lives near Dover). See you all there tomorrow.

Doh! I've run out of time to sort new tyres.

I've got a choice to come in the Skyline which has brand new 17 inch rubber, or in the 964 which has some 2005 vintage ContiSportContacts on the 16inch Design 90s with ~4mm tread left.

Frank kindly couriered his cup ones to me, which arrived this am, but the rubber on them looks pretty tired, I could sort some new rubber this pm but I realized I may also need spacers and front arch trimming to get them to fit, which I don't have time to do. So it will be the old contis on the 964 or the Skyline....

I just have to make my mind up.

Those tires might be a little too old...especially for the Ring?!
But, I couldn't imaging going to the Ring with anything else...

What a dilema.....

makes for excitement to see what you turn up in!

I'm still at work....on a conference call with India now, got one with Germany next, then when that finishes I run (Le Mans style) to the car and head south!

See you all at J11

Can you not get some new rubber when you arrive? I would have though that around the ring their would be a few placex capitalizing on those who have ruined their tyres?!!

Have a good and safe trip guys. I can't say I'm not a little jealous!!

Good thinking Andy, I've given Bookatrack a call to see if they can arrange something to be at the track when we get there.

Even if they can't arrange something, I think I have to come in the 964, i don't think it would forgive me if I left it in the garage. I'll just give it some "driving miss daisy" if the tyres start to fall apart at Spa.

Need to put my GB sticker on my plates and the headlight converter things on when we get to the tunnel I guess

See everyone in about 12 hours
