I have been working on my 94 C4 wide body for about 6 months now.
weight loss so far in pounds: sunroof delete 40, front bonnet conversion 33, seats 30, secondary exhaust delete 19, rear deckled and motor delete 18, F &R bumper 9, rear seats and shelf 18, rear wiper assembly 5, interior door panel removal, console delete and kneepad delete 20.
if I remove the AWD its 110 pounds, so net so far is 192 lbs lost.
I am sure with what you are doing you will get there and more. I want to keep mine "comfy" for the street

I have a G50 that I will use so I though I’ll just lay the two systems next to each other on the floor and weight it piece by piece.
Having a plan for an independent ABS is a big part for me as I didn’t want to share the brain with a dormant AWD. I know many people do that, but I wanted to do something else more modern.

Pretty sure there were some choice words edited out between 7:11 and 7:15 with the windscreen! Well- even if you did get it out without any mishaps I'd say you probably needed a new one anyway so no worries there. I have thoroughly enjoyed these vids and totally admire the efforts that you take to make them- but I must say that you are a very bad influence. Despite the fact that my car is out fo commission for a year now for a motor rebuild I'm totally tempted to tear it down for 200kg.....

I realize I was stressing it a bit. There was also a small defect just in that spot that the crack went straight through...

Great job! That 1/4 tank fuel starvation issue has annoyed me to no end. I didn't know that the later tanks were redesigned. Anyone know if they are a drop-in replacement?
Keeping the tank closer to the center of the car should help a bit with weight consistency as the fuel drops. I believe that was part of the reasoning to change the location from the earlier models where it's lower but more forward.
The heavy sheetmetal behind the fuel tank serves the purpose of a firewall. Something to consider even with nomex underwear
Some C4 weights to anticipate (from my scale, lbs)-
48.7 C4 torque tube (I want a carbon-tubed version of this...)
47.4 C4 front diff
12.6 C4 rear axle, each
13.0 C4 front axle, each
? G64 transmission

I wonder if the location on the 964 was influenced by the heavy drive for increased perception on safety when they developed the 964. For a production can a fuel cell with bladder would be a hard sell...

I believe the 993 tank is a drop in, but cannot confirm. It should be better on the cornering performance.

A 964 tank from 92-93 works as a 993 tank. I can drive my -92 on track a whole stint with the fuel warning light on.

Agree, I’ve done the same with my 93. No issues and only realized cause I looked down and saw the light.

There is a Brit that did it and he has a series of youtube videos. I think its under a name that includes the number 29? He took it all out and weighed each piece for a total of about 110-120 lbs.

His approach was different than Jonte's though as he left a lot of things in I believe and kept the G64 but used the coupler to lock things in place.

Yes, Jack had a different approach.
I was looking into that and in the process found a G50 for a reasonable price.
I also want to make sure I get a modern setup on the ABS with a lower weight unit and 4-channels.
The other setup with old ABS is a lot bigger on cabling and would be more difficult as I also change out the electrical system. It also houses AWD and ABS logic in the same “brain”.

His approached left all the sensors , brake setup etc more or less intact. If you are going with a modern ABS,and with all the Motec, new electrical etc, I am sure you are looking at another 30-40 pounds minimum.
