Looking forward to more.
I’m going for a full PDM setup. The weight saving is about 20kg for the wiring, switches, relays and another 5 on the ABS.

Hi ,
Nice project and great videos !
I guess replacing the doors by FRP or carbon ones are a good saving too and still safe if you fit an entire roll cage .

Just managed to get the C4 out. Have a look and let me know what you think.

We had some back and forth with the front until we figured out what to do. In the end it was all ok...

Another excellent effort and corresponding video! So now that you are within easy reach of 200 do you have a new goal in mind?

Thanks!

I have a few tricks up my sleeve still...but yes, I didn't think I would be so close to the target already.

I still have doors, undercoating as well as the engine weight mods I'm looking at.

Are you changing final gear ratio only or doing something more? Would be great with some insight into that as I’ll need to do some work to get my new LSD in there anyway.

The final drive will stay OEM. The gearbox gets a refresh with new syncros and some new bearing. First and second stay G50.03 OEM but 3rd, 4th and 5th gets regeared for the main purpose -> Trackdays at Nordschleife.
3rd and 4th are quaife gear-sets and 5th is a G64.xx 5th gear from a normal 993.
LSD will be freshly build from a LSD specialst in germany. It is based on a GT3/GT2 core with some fancy friction plates, but not the usual 40/65 setup.. i asked for a milder setup as i am a little bit afraid to have a to aggressive setup for my driving skills...

Shifter will be the CAE race unit.

Front wheel-carriers are overhauled C2 ones, driveshafts should be two new C2 units (still searching for a good deal)...
ABS will be converted to C2 brain, based on the C4 wiring loom and the high-pressure C4 brake system like the turbo and the RS had it. I have to re-wire this, but have both plugs (C4 ABS computer plug to conect to the wiring loom in the car and the C2 wiring-loom plug) and try to create an adaptor wiring-loom that in the end, the change between both ABS units is plug & play.

I will test the C2-ABS conversion first with the G64 drivetrain still in place and if this works fine, i will install the C2 hardware which should then be fully refreshed back in my garage.

cool story. I have nearly the same in mind but more like a rolling restauration (conversion C2, lightning wiring...) until the time, i have everything technically done and then have "just" to disassemble the whole car again and make it nice looking....

No street usage in mind any more? Even a trackday at the nuerburgring should justify to keep the heating system. I had two years without heating in the area of munich and there have been some trackevent, where i missed the heating in the car...
