I don't know if the head can be salvaged... This engine had about 10 heavy trackdays before this happened...

That was really interesting. Hard to visualize without fenders, but after air goes through the cooler, where will it be directed to? Possible to go to the brakes or will it not have enough velocity at that point?

Thanks for adding lbs!

I have to grab one of those 964 hats.

I’ve not decided finally where I will went the fender to yet. There will be sort of a
simple inner fender between the cooler and the wheel and from there the hot air will be vented either behind the wheel, through the top or simply around the wheel.

I think I will only know which until I’ve tried it!

Really enjoying following this thread. I wish I had your skill sets with a 3D printer, and ability to manufacture your own brackets and such. Great stuff, and great weight savings. The lighter oil cooler is on my list, but only one. Temps here in New England aren’t that hot, and the engine runs cool even on the track.

Love your thread and the videos. Great wealth of information in your video with the bad engine news - making one feel like it is so easy to take it all apart. Really great to see all your little upgrades. Any reason to move to the coilpack system you have in an otherwise stock engine?
Great work - really enjoying keeping up with your progress.

Thanks for the feedback. The coil on plug has no real performance impact other than being a lighter and perhaps quicker system.

The reason I did it on my car was to prepare the engine for a more modern setup and take weight out of it.

I would do it again if I had the choice again. What I would absolutely do though is a full dyno tune again as it behaves differently than the original and could change the ignition map. I believe this is one of the reasons for the damage I saw in one of my cylinders...

Wow, you are really rushing through this build.

Jokes aside, I am astonished (as usual after each video) by the level of quality, detail and thought that you put into each sub-system of this build and into your videos. The structure of your videos in which you revise the original Porsche design each time and then go over the shortcomings/your improvements is very pertinent and done perfectly. Do you buy new oem Porsche parts each time just for mock-up purposes?! -everything is so clean. Your project sets a new benchmark for quality 911 builds. Someone should get you and your car to something like the SEMA show in 2022 or something of that sort.

I am glad to see you have made your parts available through your web site after seeing how much time and thought is put into their design. I am eyeing your billet intake runners!

Keep up the great videos.

Thanks for your comment! The true story behind showing some parts that sometimes look new is a mix of being too trigger happy when it comes to buying stuff (and then changing my mind) and borrowing stuff from my friends. For the coolers I did indeed buy a brand new original cooler and the AC-condenser console with the intent to use it and then didn't like the non-symmetry.... Call me foolish, but I get a kick out of those things!

It does generated some extra work for me selling the parts off afterwards but helps me understanding the ins and outs of the different components.

I would love to make an appearance at SEMA and then take the car to Willow springs. I've done so many laps in that track in my sim-rig that driving it for real would be nothing but awesome!

Default Brakes, center lock and subframe

It’s been a busy weekend and the front subframe is back on the car.

Brakes turned out larger than what I need, but it will help me since I don’t have a brake booster and it’s required to qualify as a modified vehicle according to the Swedish regulations.

Stopping Power - Centerlock with an oversized brake system

Great episode. It’s amazing with all the regulations we have to go thru in Sweden to be able to get our cars road legal so we can enjoy them on the nurburgring and track days.
