Default lets see-

I don't know the exact brand of the MAF
I have welt chips, kkk 26/7 turbo, shim, greddy boost controller, 55 lb injectors, adj fuel pressure regulator, ansa exhaust, maybe more
it's not the temp sensor, we swapped that - no change
the only reason we put this thing on is because the maf didn't work w/o it
(it might have been because we hooked up the MAF power to the coil instead of the battery) would that do anything?
it does ok now but we had to meet in the middle (between the proper a/f ratio and the car being able to idle)

What are the differences in the stages of Vitesse kits and at what boost levels are they getting those dyno numbers??

Also, is it just me or does stage 2 seem to be the most bang for the buck?? For a few humderd dollars more you get about 100 more hp.

And are Vitesse kits all inclusive??? I don't like it when tuners say "kit" but then in the small print "thses numbers were with 3 " exhaust,, modded cam, ported and polished head" etc. That is not a kit!!!!

In regards to GURU, NO complaints here.

I believe the boost levels are about 16 psi and 20 psi for stage I & II, respectively. The kits do not include injectors as far as I know.

Wire up the power for the unit to the battery or another circuit not tied to the ignition coil. This is not causing your problem, but it's not really the right way to wire it up.

Next, dump the adjustable fuel pressure regulator. You shouldn't need it with a K27/6 and 55lbs injectors with the Welt chips.

Now the problem you're having is that your Vin and Vout way way down low in the graph (when you load up the software...) is going up too fast.

You need to manualy, through the software, make the first 2 cells of the voltage map almost flat, then start the Vin/Vout line going up.

This will allow you to take out the fuel down low, but keep your a/f's correct. And your car will not fall through idle anymore.

Play with it a little... this should get you going in the right direction.

You can download good MAF maps from the lindsey web page. Go to MAF kits and check under library.

Yeah... I forgot about that.

One of them should get you close, although you might have to do what I mentioned in my previous post (I did).

Ok, now what about a K 27, bigger injectors and custom chips???

K 27= $600
55/65 lb injectors= $250-300
custom re map chips= $100-200 (GURU,Steve R)
Total= worst case about $1,100-1,200

Not sure about Steve R, but I know GURU has chips already mapped for this making about 320-330 rwhp, if I remember correctly, at 17-18 psi with stock AFM.

Stoked944,
I cant speak to either of those particular kits, but I do like Vitesse's kit.
- Its got the best 'bolt on' performance I've seen so far.
- Its proven itself amongst the other rennlisters.
- Its flexible if you want to make changes down the road.

Additonally, the piggyback is a nice alternative to the potential problems and headaches a standalone EMS or ARC2 has. For instance, try using the ARC2 with an aftermarket cam. Its next to impossible without geting custom chips done.

Essentially, there's a lot to be said for all of the above.

Oh yeah... and I love my Vitesse Stage IV turbo. I haven't had a chance to open my motor up yet(still breaking it in), but so far, I'm very impressed with it.

Hope this is helpful,

Sean

K27/6 conversion = $400
55lbs injectors = $250
Bursh Test pipe = $250
Stock DME chip but a modified KLR chip to remove boost limitation (and this can be any aftermarket KLR chip) = $100 used
Lindsey MAF/Pro-M Stage 2 MAF = $1199

Total - $2200 with the test pipe.

At 17psi-18psi you could expect to make a real world 335RWHP with your peak TQ at <3500rpms, and peak HP at 5900rpms.

This assuming a manual boost controller and your wastegate in good condition.

Sean Hall

I run the Pro-M with a very big cam and a stock DME chip. Zero issues.

Tony,
I was only talking about standalone systems and the ARC2.

Pro-M looks like they have some decent stuff though... I don't have any direct or indirect experience with them though.

Same hp results, only difference is custom chips vs. MAF

Custom chips $100-200----- Pro M MAF $1200

Big differnce in price, help me to understand why one would want to pay that much more for same hp results. I understand with MAF you can tune on your own, but with money saved on chips could get about 8-10 re burns of chips, plus, at least with GURU chips, can use FQS switch for 3 different map settings.
