Just as a data point, I have new injectors and an FPR. Running 17-18psi (and have been running 15-19 regularly) on pump gas on what amounts to a stock bottom end. My car has 202,7xx miles on it, and it's on the original block, pistons, rods, wrist pins, etc. save for fresh head, rings, bearings at 178,xxx miles. It can be done, I plan to go to a larger turbo leaving the engine (which shows less than 2% leakdown across the 4 cylinders btw) as it is. Keep detonation at bay and more power doesn't necessarily = a less reliable engine.

and I'll admit it, I did blow my head gasket.
but I was racing, the car didn't have the proper a/f, I was on the turbo a very long time, and at an acclaimed 170 mph.
in a way it's a lot like NOS, build the engine right and it won't blow, slap it on and turn it up - what can you expect.
leprechaun's sure do like the shrapnel.
